Wow, I best get sending some rounds downrange in the M12. With the discount, I should be able to get the m40/43........NOT! I still have 1/2 way (almost 80k) to go with xp. Fookin thing only pays 3-500 xp per battle. I can see selling the MatildaBP and getting a Jagdtiger 8.8 though.
Result of 5:3:1 platooning with Smithy and Recoil.. Good times.. Had a good game in my Bat Chat 155 for once, ally team was down 4 to 6 with less than 4:00 to go. I had 70 seconds of reload time, so I rushed across to cap enemy base. Once I got on cap, I took out two enemy arties Tank mode, by turning my turret and hiding behind buildings at their cap. The MAUS was down to 7% HP so I took him out with 1-shot also. Battle victory with 76% cap on me.. and a Reaper award. If not for that turning turret, I would have been dead for sure. IMO, playing as an arty, the BC155 does not dish out enough damge. But as a TD hiding behind solid cover, it can dish out good amount of damage.. or whipe out the remainders with low HP... as long as its 4-shot-clip is fully loaded.
got called a Hacker tonight by Okeephe because his little T-59 bounced 4 or 5 shots off the front of my E-75. told him to learn to aim. and blah blah blah,, kept killing his team. was fun..

if the SPG's and T9 tanks are going on sale, it's a real good thing I didn't buy my GWTiger and IS7 last night before seeing that information
I see the tier 9 & 10 sale as a promotion to get more players onto premium account. Tier 9 & 10 plays in random battles are big credit losers if you do not have premium account, vehicles are not nearly as effective without premium ammo, detroyed vehicle can cost a forture to repair, especially when you lose a battle. If anyone want to stock up on gold before the weekend for premium ammo purchase or reset crew skills; group buy offer still available, PM me if interested:
Do Priests ever get "fair fights"? EVERY round I've ever played with my priest I've been at the bottom (tier 4) vs. Tier 6-7-8's.
Check out the chart on this page. http://wiki.worldoftanks.com/Battle_Mechanics it will tell you what tiers you should expect to have in bettle.
Geek, IMHO you're looking at it completely wrong. Ideally any arty would WANT the biggest, slowest tanks as targets while having a fast reload and aim time on their arty. The balance being becoming too small to matter or even damage with tiny HE rounds vs. very big tanks... You, instead, seem to be asking for a battle with nothing but scout tanks to come melt your ass... I fail to understand why. Get it out of your head right now if you think your worth, and your goal, is to kill tanks in arty. A professional arty player does the damage to tanks, but leaves the chancy last kill-shots (they could miss, where-as some other more full health tank could be waiting on your full damage and the HE killing the crew) for other tanks since arty's full damage and reach is much more useful elsewhere. ------- In other news, I've found that the T-28 Prototype is the CHEAT tank to have. If the team works with it (or at least stays alive long enough for it to make it to them) and protects its sides, it will melt all tier 8's in a tier 8 battle, it can push through tier 9's pretty well, and I've found it even frontally pens tier tens pretty well. I platooned up with a friend who owns one and we sat at base for a tier-8 match to both cover the valley and to protect the base. Well, the team lost it ... everywhere... and he, I, and a T-44 medium were now facing seven enemies, four of which were tier 8's at full health (a Super Pershing, a 59, a IS-3 and and T34, plus a 3601, a Jumbo and their arty). Most of them arrived at our base at the same time from the town side, yet we cleared them all out eventually. I've had a few over 5,000 damage games in it over the last three days, with one game having done 5,545 damage (we won that game, but my team has lost a game where I did just over 5,000 damage when in the T28 proto, too).
Well crap. Now you've gone and done it. I've had that thing researched for ages but have avoided it because it's so slow. Now I might have to get one. I need to save up some silver and free exp, but I think I'll move my Hellcat crew up to it when I get it. I've been sucking in that thing lately anyway.
Nice to know...I always thought artys job was to hit the tanks you take down to 2%....and it is even better if the two tanks are in a bear hug....that way the arty round will damage you as well as your enemy....heck you might even get killed, but it will not show up as a -1 because the arty player took out an enemy. You also have to master the key words that every arty player needs to know....Sombody scout....someone stay behind and protect me....guard the arty and we will win.....there are others, but I am tired and it is early....you will learn. Also fast arty is handy so after the tanks damage all and you pick up the kills you can run down and pickup some capture points as well. .....i kid....well, there is a bit of truth in there somewhere -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I actually got to play about 4 games last night....ranged from tier 2-7 and in every one of the games there was zero arty....and they had to be some of the best games I played in a very long time.
I got Confederate in the SU26 again last night. No need to thank me, just doing my job Oh, and when I got TK'd by an FM105 as he killed both myself and the T14 I was bouncing with, he got a -1. It's a game. If it frustrates you, then you should stop playing. I came around a corner in Fjords last night driving the Patton and there was a T92. We shot at the same time. We both died. There should have been a deep crater where that thing hit.
I got Ace Tanker on my Hummel last night. 5 kills, 7 damages, and one spot. game came down to a Hummel and a Priest on both sides we invaded and killed them. Highway was the map. I even went TD on 2 of them. and i like fighting big slow tanks better. lights scare me.
The T25/2 with the big gun is entertaining. Seems to be able to penetrate anything. Just follow the heavies in and help clean up. Having a turret is a huge plus.
I had the mother of all TK'ers last night... It was a tier 9 battle and I was in my T28 Proto when a smart guy on my team named HeyBeerMan (I nevr, ever remember people's names ... not sure how I remember his, but I will try to) in a M103 takes out all three of our arty. So now we're at -3 from the get-go, have to arty support, and have a blue M103 at our base that seemingly half the team is racing towards, and half the enemy is on the charge toward, too. That was one of those battles that I just decided to come out of cover and address whatever I could to get some points, fast, before the loss. Best to get in a few quick shots for some XP, die early and move on to my premium tier 8 while the T28's battle winds down. Man, I feel ya. I just thought it abhorable that I'd have to go from the fully mobile platform of the T25/2 to something so slow. Instead... I found that while I did give up speed, in certain circumstances I gained a juggernaut that, after finally having made it to my team's other tier 8's that are shooting from one end of the low road on Arctic Region, I pass up the hiding tier 8 heavies and just keep going with all of them following me as I push the enemies back around their corner and, somewhat slower, up their hill. I also took on a 100% JagTIger (a tier 9 TD) face to face in the middle of a city... and I came out far and above the winner on that one (I may have taken one shot out of all he shot at me), but then he may not have had the Jag's biggest gun? My research path was the engine first (because it's cheap and it really does help a little), then I saved up 20-some thousand XP while using the 105 gun I already had researched (it is a viable gun - with the amount of armor thr Proto has I had the time to take aim with it and place shots where they counted), and combined that with nearly 30,000 Free XP (you know, that free XP I'm always telling the new guys here to save up and to never, ever use to research to the next tank, lol ) to get the 120mm gun. It's a cool platform since it isn't a tank that requires us to spend XP on tracks first - I still don't have the better tracks. Unlike almost every other tank I've ever played, though, it takes more consideration and changes in tactics from the get-go. Using the data from XVM, the general tanks my team has vs. theirs, and the directions each go from the start, these determine if I wait at base for the inevitable fail of one or both flanks (if that base is on some type of plateau, I won't leave it since climbing any hill is so slow), center myself (for example the rare standard battle at Erlenburg with the bases in the middle), or choose a side - or even the middle of a field - and push (you know, because most other pubs are scared and just won't push for a victory). Pushes always require teammates either with you, or at least behind you sniping what you light up as you cross the middle of the Maliknovka field to light up what is on the other side. So you may recognize these play styles to be similar to the choices a T95 driver has to make... it is a little similar in the speed and armor, except it has less armor than a T95, and seems even more susceptible to side shots. And, yet, even with me working so many medium tanks at the moment, the Proto's speed thing isn't frustrating me at all for some reason. I still generally get just as many shots no matter where I place it. It's strange, but in over 120 battles with it (since... four days ago?) I haven't yet had one of those teams who owned the battlefield so well that I didn't get action yet. I can see it happening, but not while the kiddies are out of school from the Sandy storm up north like they were yesterday. I don't know why, but I'm getting far more cap points with it than I should be getting considering the tank is so slow. In 123 battles I have one Invader award (even one is crazy in a tank so slow), six Sniper awards, one Confederate, two Top Guns, and I'm averaging 1508 damage per battle with it.
Sounds like I should go up the American Td line, I got the Slugger researched, but never followed though. I can sell the Matilda Black Prince to open a slot. That thing is bad. Doesn't play, doesn't pay, slow, weak gun, just doesn't do it for me. I'll go back to one premium only I guess.
Thanks for the tips. Glad I don't have to get the tracks first. I'm pretty sure I can swing the engine now or very soon with free XP. I don't think I have the 105 though so I'll just wait to run it until I can get it. Guess I had better run the Premium tank for a bit to build up that silver. Hopefully, I can get it this weekend so I can take advantage of the crew retraining sale
