    Nice shots Nordie.

It was a bit cloudy here. I've taken heaps of the moon in the past (see post #204), and I couldn't be bothered setting up the tripod.

Waited over an hour as I wasn't sure what time it would appear over the hill.
Took the shot of the glow and ran inside to tell NordieMissus and when I got back out, it was up the height of the second pic.
200mm lens for the first 3 and added a 2x converter for the last.

OK, here's my best effort. Mrs Bart has hogged the telly, so I went outside and took this about 10 minutes ago.

300mm lens, tripod, timer, cropped in a fair way, with contrast cranked up a bit. Oh, and a few other fancy camera settings.

Moon is quite high in the sky, so very bright. Looks more interesting as it's rising or setting.

Much better with some shadows to show the craters.

would you two stop mooning each other and take some bike photos
and we really really don't want to know about using shadows to highlight your craters

great to see that photo on the cover of that epic flyer thingy
I still think of that ride as a real high water mark

    Dunno about him, but I used 1/125th to 1/250th @ F11 ISO100.

Oh and the flash, cause it was dark.

I used spot metering because you want the camera to concentrate on the moon in the centre of the frame, not all the black around it. Timer is used because even on a tripod, you get camera shake when pushing the button (I should get a remote). I used the basic manual setting, and set it to the center AF (auto focus) point. Other then that, I let the camera do the rest.

    Simple eh? :deal

Thanks, not everyone was pleased about me 'selling out'. :lol3 Hopefully I'll get a free poster.

That ride was easily the best I've been on. Still got the scars. We need to sort out another one, but give me plenty of notice. The piggy bank is pretty low at the moment.
