Does anyone know if the fork protectors have been changed over the years so that they do not rub the forks?

Just throw on a set of black WR250"X" fork protectors....they don't rub like the white "R" model.....slightly different

Me too, thumb on the scale, probably in a friendly way, but still...

Mine don't rub.......................... It takes 10 min. per side to take them off, heat them up with a heat gun, and bend them out a little. Easy and FREE!!

I'm sure it is... they probably got those numbers directly from Yamaha.

I'm not really concerned with HP figures, preferring instead to rely on how well the engine responds to input, and how much fun I'm having. After all, it's just a 250... it's not like the performance numbers are meant to impress anyone.

Thanks ... I owned a WR250R for 3 years so I know what the power felt like when riding. I just forgot what the HP rating was and am now looking at a 2013 Husaberg FE250 to run in enduros next year ... and their claim of 32 HP.

The one that rubs the worst is the Left one, as you sit on the bike. It rubs on the inside right next to the wheel. It looks to me like the front brake hose, which attaches to that side, torques it around a little. Mine (08) rubbed from day one until I fixed it.

Were there any differences between the 2011 and 2012 WRR that would cause the Scotts sub mount that they have fitted and verified for 2011 not to work on the 2012?

I'm looking for some how to's with pictures on certain maintenance for the WR. I looked through this thread, & the "Data,Spec's & how to's" thread but didn't find anything on things like replacing front fork oil, removing/replacing counter sprocket,doing a fork seal job,grease the steering head.
I've got the service manual,but it really helps when I see pictures of you guys doing it,and you guys usually give more helpful detail. I'm only up to page 1284, so maybe it's up ahead,but if anyone knows where I can find this-that would be great.

sweet that was good timing, Anything on changing the fork oil? I purchased my bike used ,it's a 2010 with a like over 4k on it, so I figured I should change the oil this winter. The suspension was done by Race Tec so I'm not sure if the way to drain the oil will be the same as if they were stock? I don't know if you need special tools,and I've never done this before. I'm no mechanic,that's for sure,but I'm handy and am willing to try and do it myself if I can see how it's done.

Same videos explains how to change the oil as well! A few simple tools are all you need
