Just saw this thread - I was looking for a trip - Anyone headed from the Portland area?

Not sure my tires are up to it, just ordered a new set, but probably not here in time...

Looks like asrvivor and xrdoug are joining from the PDX area. Haven't heard much from xrdoug, but asrvivor is looking like he'll make it.

I'm all repaired and IN Wade. I'm leaving tomorrow at 4. Can you come along. Got a hotel in springfield for 38 smackers. You are welcome to share. Figure that way I can get really drunk tomorrow night and have to ride Friday all day with a lovely hangover.

V-Duck, I've got the bike mostly loaded, will strap on the sleeping bag and tent and some clothes tomorrow after work. Was planning to meet you all Friday morning in Eugene at the designated spot. That still seems like the best plan for me unless the meeting spot/time is moving,

Last words of advice: Hart Mtn hot springs is at 6000 ft. It's only May. Gonna be cold at times.
If its not cold, there will be mosquitos.

Oh, there's a DR650 under there. I thought it was an F150.

Just got back from three days in this country. Overnighted at Burns, to Narrows, and then to Rome and Jordon Valley, over to Weiser and then Baker City with a buddy.

Bugs are out everywhere, take spray. Gas is available at Burns Junction. Not sure if it is super or not, just there was a pump and someone was filling up. Weather should be good, till Monday....Hurry home.

It'll carry plenty of beer and wood though. Probably don't need the gas cans, but I haven't pushed her past 180 miles before. So figured better safe than sorry. Pushing even one mile makes the cans worth carrying.

Asrvivor, I'm glad you mentioned gas....

I'm thinking Summer Lake, at about 195 miles from out meetup is the obvious first gas stop. Speak up if that presents a problem. Silver Lake is the next previous spot with gas at about 170 miles from the meetup.

After that, I'd plan to top off in Lakeview, about 70 miles further on. Plush is the next logical place but I've always had reservations about the quality of their gas.
