If I recall there has only been a 10watt spot, 24watt flood and an adjustable 24watt flood that have been discontinued. Then there is the current models, which are referred to by Model# not wattage consumption.

I have two, Model24-3mode for sale.
Still brand new and in their boxes, never used but tested with battery, yes, they work great.
No bike anymore to put them on.

To monitor the state of the battery and the charging system. Also, on bikes with not-so-powerful alternators it will allow you to see when you've turned on too many electrical accessories, which could drain the battery.

OK, mine is pretty new (2010) and I keep it on the battery tender so I'm assuming everything is fine.
Never had any battery issues that I didn't see coming, well, once one died without notice.

My concern isnt a bad battery while in my garage. It's running heated grips, heated jacket, running lights and headlights. On a really cold, wet day, I want to know if my alternator is keeping up while cranking up the heated gear.

It's why led lights are popular.

Cool, I learned something I didn't know before. I'm a poor sunny weather summer rider only, so never worry about those things...

Does that mean in Rainy Vancouver you don't ride that much?

Yup - that's why I have LEDs as well. Less stress on the electrical system.

I have

2 x 44s at 1.8 amps each = 44 watts @ 4000 lumens
2 x 30 spots at .85 amps each = 20 watts @ 3000 lumens
2 x 30 wides (the old ones) at .85 amps each = 20 watts @ 3000 lumens

Total - 10,000 lumens, 84 watts, 7 amps total

How are you handling the remote FOB?

Used Dual Lock disc glued to the steering nut. Holds well.
Also on the 07 Yamaha FJR use the yellow high beam wire for the high beam connection.

I have actually been thinking on how to properly demonstrate the difference - without as you say, "burning" out the camera's CCD. I have been known to do an occasional bit of photography now and then so it should not be too difficult.

Watch this space. I am off to a Warbirds Airshow in Temora, NSW (Oz) in a coupla weeks and it should be nice 'n' dark to do things. But depends on which camera I take with me - if I take the DSLR no probs. The little point and shoot, weeeeelll maybe not so easy. iPhone? It'd get nuked I reckon.

How about taking the shots from the rider's point of view, and use a fixed shutter speed and lens opening? Using the different lights and then the full UFO extravaganza?

I know even with the 44s only the head on shots are blinding.
