Thanks so much to the great insight. Always great to get recommendations from others that have done it!! This is basically what I had decided to do, except will probably park my bike at Hydro Electric and go up to Aguas. See MP then back down to St Theresa!

Always different stopping in a place for a time. Have spanish class everyday from 8:30 -12:30, then time to explore and connect with others!

Doing my Spanish school here. Meeting some interesting people from Denmark, Holland, Germany, Canada, Israel!!

Time to relax and have some tea made of Coco. Helps to adjust to the 11,000 + foot elevation

Love the way they create locking hasps. This looks like 1 1/2" rebar...

Lots of great food to try out from the local vegetarian place for $2.00 USD lunch

Hey, if you go to that Cathedral, there is a painting of the last supper. It's huge and looks like it could have been painted in Europe, but the "supper" is cuy :lol3

Had a really bad nights sleep last night that I do not know why. Just could not get to sleep, so only had a couple hours ..... But this is the first on my trip, so hopefully I will catch up tonight!

New motor has been running well with no issues. Now have over 18,000 miles (13Kish with new motor). Just one of those things that happens. Just very glad that BMW replaced the entire engine and I have been good to go!

    Hola Radioman (Mark) !

Great work on the RR. Have been in from the start :clap

I was going to put this up in Trip Planning, but thought I should go to the alpaca's mouth so to speak.

You seem to be impervious to altitude with your India / Himalayas ride and current venture. I know of a super fit mountaineering guy who got seriously ill at 13,000 ft in the Andries and had to call off his hike/ climb. How are you feeling ?

I know I have had problems sleeping, even in Reno, just being at 5000 ' ?? Being from the coast like you and rarely going higher than the mountains in BC, so just wondering ...... The mate I understand is good for energy but I need my ZZZZZ.

Enquiring minds wish to know. (no pressure)

Sleep well my friend, and may your ride be safe. :freaky

Hope to trace your path some day.

:wave Logan - have read a bunch about Altitude and the best I can say is that in India I did use Diamox for a few days as we approached the 11,000-13,000 foot level. But just for a few days then off it. The other real big thing is hydration. Drinking tons of water ...... This helps the body to Acclimatize. you also need to pee often :lol3

I feel really good at the Altitude. Have had a few nights were I did not sleep great, and sometimes dreams are a bit strange. Couple nights ago I had a terrible time getting any sleep, but I had not had any Mate de Coco or anything else like coffee .....so I just do not really know what it was. Usually I am a great sleeper :)

Hope that helps. And Altitude sickness is a serious thing to consider. I know that most of the hotels here have some type of Oxygen in case people are having issues.
