2013 Husqvarna 650 Terra

I traded a 2010 Kawasaki Versys in on my Terra. The Terra is as smooth or maybe a bit smoother than the Versys. The Terras' performance on the street is at least 90% as good as the Versys and the Terra totally embarrasses the Versys when the pavement ends. I rode my Versys down to Laguna Seca (I live just a few miles south of Vancouver BC) for the MotoGP race last July and I wouldn't hesitate to do the same on the Terra. I also previously owned a DR650 for a couple of years and the Terra is a hell of a lot smoother than the DR and has significantly better performance both on and off road. Buy the Terra, you'll be glad you did.

I have been in on this thread for a while now, and I might have even asked this question a 100 pages back who knows, but&#8230; anyone riding a terra now that was riding a Dakar or serato? How much better is the factory USD fork and shock package then the old school BMW design? I assume the motor is just as smooth if not smoother then the beemer. I have ridden my Dakar back to back with a new wee storm and its just as smooth as that. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Bottom line is it worth putting my Dakar up for sale for the fine folks of this site and upgrading to the terra? <o></o>

I got one.. I'm all . ...It's a not a huge step up from my XT250, but, it's a lot less scary on the freeway. By the second ride it felt very natural.

that didn't come out right.... I meant it's not a lot harder to ride than my XT250. In performance it's night and day. I really gasped at the extra power when I cranked it open a little bit.

I know exactly what you mean - I've got an XT225. The Terra feels just so easy to ride .

I took my first pillion passenger today & the bike felt great. Very stable and still a smooth ride. Although it was only a couple of half hour rides, my passenger felt comfortable too and would have been happy to go further.

Thanks for posting your vid.... That settles the argument for me... Well I'm just sayin that is as far off road as I'd ever want to take a dualie... Well done!

On another line of thought, whilst the bike appears to happily tractor through most of the rougher stuff, I just couldn't help but think a tooth less on the counter sprocket would just make life that little bit easier- especially where you go through that rocky section and the bike stalls a few times...

can anyone tell me valve check time/cost at dealer? i got to ride my friends terra last nite, i really like it but the dealer told him 8 hours for a valve check due to having to drop the motor. sounds very expensive.

To check the valves the motor does not need to be dropped. Some plastics and valve cover needs to be taken off.

To adjust the valves, the cam has to be pulled.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Shim set up for valves??
