this is gonna be a fun crowd - lots of familiar faces out there! :D

    Aw, Radek.
We were sad enough when you missed the Baja Wan-Thousand...
But when you couldn't make the Oso Tired Ride...:cry

Matt's going to do a good job of bringing us all there, don't worry. :deal

    There's some video uploading now...

I sure appreciate the enthusiastic support for this RR. I'd like to acknowledge each one the way LittleWan does, but alas I type like a man-child and it's painful and slow.
I'm trying to get to the dirt quicker. Please consider yourselves individually acknowledged.

    Departure 2/2/14 continued

We all met up at Bartek's place to touch base, share gps tracks and enjoy a great meal prepared by Mrs. Bartek. Thanks Mrs. B, I love your cooking!:clap
Kelly had a chance to see everyone and catch up. It was a fun evening without a single picture taken.:(:

This is Ceasar's new truck he named Farmageddon. He loves to tell the story of how he got it at auction for $800.
This whole rig looks sketchy, because it was.

We got an early start the next morning, heading for Tecate (for what should be an 11 hr. drive).

Radek (rburkat) was supposed to be joining us on this ride, but first he had a little something to take care of.
He was racing in King of the Motos.
I tasked LittleWan with keeping track of Radek's status (i.e. is he too hurt to ride Baja?)
She surprised us with an e-mail link to a live feed of the race.
It was one of those moments where you're completely dumbfounded by technology. Well, at least I was.

Nothing beats cruising down the highway in Farmageddon and watching somebody else race KOM. :rofl

Farmageddon has all the modern conveniences of a truck built in the '50s, hand crank windows and electric windshield wipers.
To activate the wipers simply insert the fuse.

What will they think of next?

    We must be getting closer.

Just before we crossed the border we heard from Radek. It was bad news. He wasn't going to be able to make the ride. They don't call it the King of Motos for nothing.
Radek was OK, but he and his bike were not quite up to starting a 2 week romp in Baja. That was a bummer, he would be missed.

We crossed the border in Tecate without any problems. In fact, you can now pay for your visa in the office.
No more going to the bank. That is a huge improvement.

The last little hurdle before making it to Rancho Ojai was a minor traffic violation. Osito accidentally blew through a stop sign.
A quick trip to the police station and $60 and we were on our way.

We were stopped again within 200 ft of leaving the police station. We were let go because they had already fleeced us. There's a bit of a racket going on down there.
No matter, we had made it to our destination and cabin for the night. After only 15 or so hours.

Super cute little cabins! Looks like the cabins in Lassen at Manzanita Lake and Bluebell Campground in Custer.

It’'s time to pack up the bikes, take a group shot and hit the trail.

We had rain last night, but this morning the sun was out and warm. This would be a great day for riding.

We all had some leftover steekers from OSO LOCO and they weren'’t coming home.

Last pics of clean bikes with all of their pieces attached.

A "Buenos Dias, Puta" from Bartek. :flip

The Hanson area is normally a great warm up ride for what'’s to come. Today, however, it was getting colder and colder.

    How's about a little warm-up video.

I love riding this area. So much fun!

Very nice, guys! Is there going to be a Bartek taco count in this one???
Or how about a taco count for the whole crew?

haha - during the planning stages, I challenged the Osos to eat twice as many tacos on this ride...
after all, we had lost Scott super early, so most of the Baja WanK taco count was consumed by 2.5 Osos.
Matt, Bartek and myself (I'm pretty useless with 2 tacos per sitting)...

Matt laughed. With more Osos, he said they could TRIPLE the taco count.

    3 x 117 = 351 :eekers

Those are some mighty bold words, Mister Honey!

So then we joked that the title for the report would be, "OSO LOCO!! Danger Zone: Tacos, Tacos, Tacos...No Diarrhea"

    :lol3

But then they lost their ace in the hole - Radek. :cry
Now they were down to 4 Osos.
I cut them a break and we went back to the Tacos Double challenge...

Could they hack it? :ear Are they gonna be on that like Bartek on a taco???

    :evil

(matt said, "you couldn't let them miss you for even a little while, eh?" :lol3)

    Hi Aimee!
Matt said, "doesn't this one count?" :dunno

By the way, it's great seeing everyone! :wave Hola Amigos! I love you guys, too.
Thanks for showing up to support Team Oso!

Here's another taco purse for Hanksmybuddy....you know you want it.

    OK, guys -
See you in a bit - I actually have a ride report contribution to post...
