I wanted the 500x,but bought the nC700x.The 2 reason were.. 1..I didn't want to wait till whenever ( the dealers didn't know when they were comming ) and I'm heading to Deadhorse in June. 2..At 6'1" and 275# I fit the 700 way better. Plus the 700 might get better mpg's than the 500!!. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The 500 will get very close to the 700 at best economy. WMTC figures are 78 Imp mpg for the 700 and 76.3 for the 500. However the 500s wider operating RPM range and higher redline means the bike can be operated further from it's ideal with lower mpg as a result.
I thought "wow,he seems a little cramped" but then I saw the note where he's 190cm,so I guess that translates to about 6'2".Should put my 5'8" self right in the sweet spot
looks like the big guy fits on it <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SAs1TMq590I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/T7XwYPKtGGg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
My friend does that same "knee out & 8" from the deck at every turn" move, it is torture if he manages to get out on the road in anything but last place. That is what your moto-journalist might ride like, beware!
There aren't many journos who, OTTOMH, I would rate as fast riders. MCN has a couple of guys who race on a regular basis, RiDE tends to have the hands-on tinkering type, BIKE has guys like Hargreaves (who seems to know what he's doing) and MFG (who gets elbow-down shots, but also crashes a lot. And I mean a lot). That said, you may be right. It's common to see journo reviews for track launches (print) but the vid clips tend to be sedate road reviews. Hmmm..
I'm a little guilty of that one too I thought the guy in the video had some of my great riding skills!!! Brake 1/2 hour too early, throw knee out in corner like i'm about to shred some fabric, correct line 3 or 4 times from over-leaning and then hard on the gas to go screw up the next corner.
You guys are all over the place and no one guessed it yet. It's for a photo-shoot. You can't tell how fast he's going in a photo, and "proper" posture on a bike looks good in a magazine. He was riding slow for that same reason too, easier to photograph.
I'm still trying to find a single frame in that vid with proper posture that would look impressive with his knees akimbo.
"Proper" for a photographer. Go over any motorcycle magazine. That's how they do it. Been there, done that. Both on bike and behind the camera.
I don't doubt that, all the more reason I don't bother with street mags, they have been mostly regurgitating company brochures and sales releases for years. I bailed on them about 7 years ago.
