Just picked up this CRKT Edgie about a week ago. Perfect work knife and a big change from the beat up Gerber folder I used to carry.
It was around $60.00 delivered. If I lose it, I'm not out a lot. Also, I won't mind letting a "knife less", fellow camper use it.
LOL. Reminds me of lending a Gerber Paxe to a fellow camper so he could drive his tent stakes into the ground and reminding him to be careful of the shaving sharp ax edge.
I am a fan of the sheep foot type blades, good work horse type knives, I have a small Victorinox folder in the same style.
Yep, and very stout. For EDC, I've given up carrying folding knives. In fact, I sold all my craptacticool folders last month.* You'd be amazed how much nicer a small fixed-blade knife is to use. A blade like a BRKT Bravo Necker, Bumble Bee, IMP, Micro Drop Point, or a Blackjack Neck Knife stuck in your front pants pocket is unobtrusive and will do more work more comfortably than most any folder. * Of course I still have and use SAK's and multi-tools, but I seldomly use the cutting blades on any of them.
Yep! My Izula II and a Ringed Razel are easy to carry and do most jobs with ease. Of course I believe there are some jurisdictions that will get you for carrying a fixed blade concealed where as if you had a folder nothing would be thought of it...
I'm sure you're right, but with the < 3" blades I'm referring to, I guess I'd just risk it rather than capitulate to the idiocy.
I have a Bark River knife, but I can't find it on their website. It looks like a Montana Guide, but with two hollow handle rivets instead of two solid and one hollow. The only markings are the trademark on one side and "1st Production Run" on the other.
My Nessmuk shipped today Now to figure out the handle I want to do, there are a few vendors on blade forums with some nice stabilized blocks. Might tray a no metallic bolster too, we shall see. Any good like on decent material places? I have ordered from janz before with good luck, where else?
3" is my limit. I figure I can convince all but the most obtuse that my fixed blade is less of a threat than a 4" folder... Now no more pictures of those Bark Rivers. Those are sexy
Could you snap a picture? The original Montana Guide looks very different from the last run, BTW. The ricasso area was changed a LOT. But, AFAIK, they all had two rivets (solid, or hollow, or whatever) plus a lanyard hole.
For whatever reason I have some lack of interest for ebay related stuff. But there was some good stuff on the link that I will check out, thanks Barry.
