It looks like Rustoleum is trying to jump in on this "dip your car" fad... Has anyone tried this stuff yet? I'm wondering how it compares to plastidip They made their target audience definitive with the image on the can
They've held up well! I'll clean them up and take some pics after we get moved. On the dip your car you tube channel there is a video on how to repair the covering if you rip a piece out on a curb or whatnot... You basically feather the edges with some laquer thinner and just spray over. I'm seriously considering dipping the entire van. .mobile
I wonder how much weight that would add? When are you moving? Don't we have more windows to put in that van? Better take advantage of the free labor while you can!
Gig: we close next Thursday. I think I'm going to pay a glass company to put the back windows in but you and I definitely need to get together and smash that driver's side front window ...of course if I wait and do it in the new workshop I don't have to worry about the rain
You had months of no rain... I have never seen a Canadian who was afraid of snow... sent from the heart of God's country where internet choices are slim.
Yeah but murphy's law dictated every time we cut a big hole or removed a window the afternoon rainshowers came in. One of the cool things about the indoor space for the sprinter is that I do have the option to spray the van if I want to now..
I saw an older shorty low top sprinter dipped in tan recently. Kind of looked cool. it had black rims like yours.
How stoned did you get? I worked in an aircraft paint shop as a teenager so in theory I have the basics down assuming the MEK didn't destroy all of my memory cells .mobile
It made my lungs hurt and I couldn't take a deep breath for a few days. I had a good exhaust fan but wasn't wearing a mask, only used a single can of Plastidip. I think it's worse than a normal rattle can.
The Sprinter is back in Cargo Mode for the big move... I feel like I'm playing Tetris The move has begun. I can't wait to get back to the Sprinter build with the new facilities - having an indoor space to work on the van is going to open new options! When the workshop is all setup it'll be an ideal place to build a Sprinter - literally every tool you could ever want 3 feet from the sliding door. Maybe I should offer Sprinter Build services to Colorado Sprinter owners
I just had a thought for you... if those are rear wheel drive then get yourself a set of auto chains, the ones that deploy at the flip of a switch, like you see on ambulances and school busses. They make some noise at low speed, but I found out yesterday that you don't notice them clanging when you are doing 90+on the Teton park road... sent from the heart of God's country where internet choices are slim.
How stable is that hillside, since they notched it for the workshop? I remember just enough from Geology 101 to worry.
The house/shop have been there since 1972 and survived the "1000 year flood" event last September that wiped out the canyon below. That said, I'm sure "erosion maintenance" is going to become a new hobby of mine.
Unlike the motorcycle you rode in "Underwater Rhymes" eh? <iframe src="//player.vimeo.com/video/1661595" width="500" height="377" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe> <p><a href="http://vimeo.com/1661595">Underwater Rhymes</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user721955">topgeek</a> on <a href="https://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>
