Depends on whether you intend to leave the paint stock or not. White is a more flexible base layer if you add paint &/or graphics.

My source tells me the robots have been programmed and are "ghost" welding. I'm not too thrilled about unibody, but the floor channels look to be fairly beefy, 5" or 6" cross section on the cutaway cab models. :dunno

I'd love to see a company take the low roof version, add a pop top and set up the interior like an old VW Westfelia camper. A hippy camper for gen y.

I'm sure GTRV or Sportsmobile will do one asap.
Might even find Pleasure Way doing an updated Traverse version.

The current Ford van is going away and this is the future for Ford.
Only the cut-away version of the current style of van will move forward in the future.
This is directly from the literature at the dealer about this new van.

Seems Westfalia had been doing one in Europe. Unfortunately Westfalia went out of business in 2011.

Are you guys not getting the 2.2 tdci model?

For those interested there are loads of box conversion, standard and tipper backs over here and the ford even the 2.2 is pretty reasonable at towing as well, as there are several pikey camps up here full of them being used as tow vehicles for the large twin axle caravans.

One thing I have not seen is the last model 2009/2010 4x4 versions, but the older county 4x4 conversions were awesome.

Possible, not likely. The government doesn't subsidize diesel fuel here so it costs more than gasoline. Our emissions laws require treating the exhaust. So the cost is higher, the economic benefit lower.

We did an economic analysis for our company trucks and unless you are towing a very heavy trailer or driving it well over 30,000 miles a year, it doesn't pay. Unless you like diesels.

The Ford Ecoboost - GDI turbocharged 4 and 6 - have become really popular.

No, just a 3.2 I5 diesel and the 3.7 and 3.5 (ecoboost) gas engines.

That is a great looking van.
Please let us know what engines and specs are on it.
And also what you think compared to a more conventional type looking van.

I have a brief test drive of this spec. It drives like a car. I had the previous shape Transit before and also a Connect. This feels like they have really put some work into moving to the next level. Fantastic for a van. I also had a slightly longer drive in another one a couple of months ago which was the same but the long wheelbase. That was nice too. I haven't yet driven one full of tools and crap but I'll keep you posted.

The engines are pretty much all the same but available with 100ps, 125ps, or 150ps outputs. They are all 2.2 diesel 6 speed manual. There are many options with regard to weight capacity starting at 700kg and up. I've got the 290 model which is rated for 9** kg.
With VAT and various fees for delivery etc its 18K GBP. Whats that about $30K?
