http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/mcy/3559726832.html Can i even get parts for this thing anymore? Anything i should be absolutely certain is there before committing to it? I'm kinda figuring worst case scenario i can reinstall the engine and get it running and sell it for a grand.... or just offload the thing for 300 bucks again.... I've emailed the guy, it wasn't quite clear to me from the ad whether the engine was assembled or not. thanks guys! if one of yall scoops it up before i can i won't be that pissed.
I ride an 80s v4 Honda (big Magna) and parts are very readily available for that. One of the guys from the v4 forums has a website up here: www.v4market.com ( ). I don't own a 'ceptor so have never checked. If that were a 1,000 and it was in Oregon, it'd already be in my garage
I have heard/seen that saying before. Was looking for a diesel Mercedes for a while to convert to veggie oil. The best advice I saw posted for people in the same boat as I was: There are few things in life more expensive than a cheap/free diesel Mercedes
Local Honda has a sign in the work area" we no longer work on 84 or older bikes" Honda isnt making parts for them anymore, they said soon it will be in the early 90's for parts un-availibility. Soichoro Honda always claimed parts would always be available for every bike Honda ever built. As soon as he passed Honda realized what a folly that was.
Too bad. 86's are the year to have, I think. 1st year for the gear driven cams, and possibly the most powerful 750 version, as it was the last VF/R they used as a super bike platform. Beautiful in it's red, white & blue livery too. But yes, the less it costs you to buy, the more it will cost you to get on the road.
This! I'd have bought that sucker in a heartbeat. That generation of VFR is very good! Bodywork would be a bitch to replace, but it still shows up now and then.
I hear all you guy's! I paid $1000 for this turd................. I had to clean the carbs, it needed new tires (the ones on it were new in 2000-no miles, & hard as rocks), and I even had to shell out the bucks for brake pads! :eek1 Will it ever end? Chris
