Ducati MultiStrada 1200

Did someone move this thread into Road Warriors or did I post it here? I sure thought I posted this in the Beast section!

What the heck do I know? Street tires are probably fine, I'd probably stick to pavement if I had a bike like this anyways. Hard luggage would still be cool though. I want my next bike to be sportier than the ones I have though, ad although this is cool, I am not sure it is quite what I want.

You did put it into beasts. The mods just don't know what they are looking at.

The lines get blurred for sure. But I see this thing with its comfy fairing and front cylinder exhaust pipe all hanging down below in the breeze, and am looking at a Road Warrior, so I moved it here.

And BTW, I dig it.

I think you forgot to move all the MultiStrada, Ulysses, Versys, and new Tiger threads here as well. Perhaps a Ducati shouldn't be called a beast, I won't argue that one.

Looking at the pic the tires look as agressive as the typical adventure tread, not knobbies but definitely not a Scorpion Sync.

Don't have the energy or patience to care, so I'll move it back to Beasts and bow out of the thread. Carry on.

Ducatis 'Strada Aperta' is due in 2010, allegedly. I wonder if this is it??

My exact thoughts! Then reason takes over and 'Paid For' vs $13,000+ rears it's ugly head as apples to apples it really has nothing over the GC to justify the expense. Besides, there's only some 2000 Gran Canyon's in the entire country and that makes it a rather exclusive club.

It sure is a sexy beast though and as I've been drooling over an 'S' model Hyper this thing has me popping a chub like it's some kind of mechanical Viagra.

I like the fairing treatment. Headlights that tie it to the Superbikes. Cleaner rearend than the current Multi.

They don't appear to have adressed the two big shortcomings of the Multistrada: fuel tank capacity and the front wheel.

The Multi needs at least 6-gallons of fuel and a 19" front wheel. A narrower rear would be cool, too, in order to use tires like the TKC-80.

I don't buy new anyway. It's going to be another 5 years with the GC at least.

I like it, but it needs a larger tank than a hypermotard for sure, spoke wheels 19 and 18 inch so you can put tkc's on it and bag mounts. It is a step in the right direction for sure!

Those pics are just some rather crude photochop attempts to guess what the new MTS might look like (and imho, are way, way off). Nothing to get excited about just yet
