AWO/Simson Information

I have what I believe to be a 1956 Simson Field Sport in original condition. Just looking for any additional information anyone might have on it.

The only thing I can tell you (and now call me an anorak), the carb isn't the original item, but the BVF-carbs have never been great anyway.

There are quite a few AWO-forums on the net (mostly German though)

Do you have more pictures of the bike? I have a Simson Sport too, but have never seen a version with such an exhaust, handlebar and front fender. Two weeks ago i was in the Simson Museum in Suhl, Germany.

No, just shrouded. But MZ and DKW did it starting in the 30ies and 40ies

MZ BK350 (springs to my mind)

Seems this is an '56-58 ISDT bike. One of about 50-60 bikes produced. That all I've found so far, but always looking for more info.
