That is one of Rade's windshields and it works great. Much better wind protection and gives me a place to hide my Nexus7 that I now use as a GPS.

Nice.

What GPS app do you use? I'm considering Sygic but haven't gotten to use it a lot during the trial period.

How does the head light guard effect air flow? It looks like it would have a substantial effect ...either good or bad. Have you tried it both ways ?

And that's a great idea for the tank bag hooking points!!! Very easy to put/take them on/off.... didn't see it before.

For my GPS software, I ended up using BackCountry Navigator Pro.....works well. I also purchased additional topo maps that have a bit better contrast and viewability in the sun as the Nexus 7 computer is not designed to be in full sunlight and it as times hard to see. I normally run that oversize sunshield that was in the other picture to help...

I built the enclosure with HDPE and a few different clear plastics (the top one being frosted to cut glare. Totally dust and water proof. So far I love having the large format, but it eliminates the touch screen ability and I am forced to use a bluetooth mouse to change things once it is sealed into the unit. I am going to work on that...





It is built to be breakaway in case of impact and with the anti-vibration mounts the computer has survived 1000 off-road miles so far. This is all just testing and if it fails I will just get a Garmin Montana and call it good.

As far as the headlight guard revising the airflow, I have no real idea as I installed it at the same time as the carbon windshield. That thing is held on with 3m Dual Lock which is 5 times stronger than Velcro and is now my favorite way to semi permanently mount things.

The tankbag is a Touratech and really does work pretty well as it can be removed very easily. I wonder how long it will last, but if it does break, I will modify it to be better.

In retrospect, I am a bit of a dork to not have taken pictures with the computer in there...I will get them a bit later.

Oversized sunshield: it looked like a big black box in the first pics, that was what called my attention the most

Tankbag: for money reasons not planning to change my KTM for a TT one, so it seems I will have to make some mods someday to the KTM one...
