Well now that I got a car, now I need a subframe. I thought I would put out a request here for a KLR subframe...anyone got one for sale??? I also need the parts that go into the frame of the car to connect to the subframe.

    He means this little Guppy:

A poor, inoffensive Honda Smegma into which some Bull-goose Psycho A&P mechanic has neatly installed a Boeing T502 Turbine engine:

    Engine specs here:

    http://www.boeing.com/history/boeing/502turbine.html

About 300 hp, and roughly 28 seconds runtime (full AB) on the Hondas 3.4 gallon tank - a genuine hair-raising arm-strecher 'tho ....

Wonder if it would spool up on Bio-diesel?

    Cheers

This just popped up on the Chico CraigsList:

    http://chico.craigslist.org/mcy/1483307155.html

A late-model GS with Dauntless-installed Ural sidecar (NOT an M72D) includes most every option (e.g. trail mods, disc brake, GS wheel on the hack, electric tilt, Kenny racks & etc, etc....) - pop a set of 45 litre panniers on it and go adventuring in style and comfort.

Fairly low mileage at about 12K, and very reasonably priced too at 16K asking for the package.

Given that a Ural Gear-ups are going for around 12-13.5K, this outfit would be a very viable alternative for someone who does 70/30 highway and Forest Service gravel roads. No, I don't think it would handle some of the really dreadful goo that a 2WD Ural can traverse, but OTOH there are damn few Urals that would be happy with sustained 75-80MPH cruising, or have the brakes to be relatively safe at warp speeds.

I don't know anything more about this outfit, and have no personal stake whatsoever - best to contact the CL poster for details.

Also note that this isn't another boring Ural slam - what they do, they now do very well, and are pretty bloody satisfying in the process. This bike just seems like a reasonably well-sorted rig, with a wider than average performance envelope, at a price that makes it an alternative worth considering.

    Cheers

    Jim
