"SPORT TOURER" can just as easily used to describe a type of rider as it can be used to describe a bike. In fact, I'd make the argument based on this thread alone that you can apply the term to a type of rider much more easily than you can a class of bike.

Did you miss the link to the popular mechanics article where they lumped a Harley road glide in to the comparison? I wouldn't have gone that far if I were writing the article, but it does a great job of supporting exactly what I keep saying. The parameters of a sport touring motorcycle are not well defined, which is exactly the issue I brought up and was trying to convey when Maggot spewed the stream of hatred about another inmate's motorcycle posted in this thread. If the term isn't well defined, its certainly not because the industry left it up to him to define it.

why don't you go back and read my last post

instead of rewriting with too many words

    a picture= 1000 words

a few words does not equal piles of words

    read with understanding

    rant over

    cheers

    oh

    ps. I agree with you.

Please, would someone just write a witty Haiku and we'll put this thing to bed?

Thanks, I certainly like it. I can keep up in the twisties without ruining too many pegs, and still get 50+ MPG. Bill Mayer Saddle coming soon, and Iron Butt rides soon after.
