Don't worry if its too high it is very simple for them to lower to a suitable height for yourself .

How much difference do the big tanks make to the handling?

At first i noticed the extra girth and wieght but after the first ride I was pretty much used to it. The front forks could use some stiffening up or more travel for going hard offroad, but for touring they work fine. I can't go back to the limited range of the original tanks after using the safari's for a while now.

I have this nagging feeling that I should get rid of mine & be more financially responsible. Buy something cheaper & learner legal (DR is the most obvious) so my son can learn to ride.

Then I take mine out of the garage.

If he wants to ride he can buy his own bike.

this bike is pretty cool, I spent the weekend in fraser and I reckon its one of the few bikes that could ride up there in nice comfort for 2 hours of slab, take off the mirrors, then mix it up on some truely deep and nasty sand with some baby DR-Z's then ride back again nice and comfortable...

And heres pics - didnt get any photos of the really really hard stuff, was too busy picking my bike up, I reckon I dropped it about 50 times in 3 days heh

Mine has done over 53,000kms now and we're still in love .....

I continually amaze myself when I think that what you see there is all I needed for 8 months of life on the road. We have been to some very amazing places together and plan to see a few more before we part company.

I continue to treat my friend right and nurture it in the hope that I am rewarded with the same in return :feelgood

Hey Ogmore was that you parked out side of lemonde cafe in noosa on Sunday if it was i nearly fell of the dr looking at that bike (I was on the dr650 with the 9,2 surf board strapped to the side),

Hasting street is usually reserved for fecking stupidly load harleys and very shiny super bikes so the ktm and the few drz's that where kicking around looked very out of place.

It looks bloody good in black might just have to put one on the Christmas list.

yeah it was, we came in to noosa for some steaks and beer at hogs breath after a long weekend of hard riding on fraser.

Yeah felt a bit out of place there, rolling in with a massive patrol with mud tyers and our bikes... My mate on one of the drz's is from sydney after lunch he said lets get out of here these posers are makin my skin crawl! :rofl

Worth the purchase, great bike :)

It can be quite funny when i go down there for a coffee and park the bike up more people look at my dirty and rusty 11 year old dr than at the blinged up harleys and the porch 911's.

And the people in the pavement cafes really love it when she starts and blows a big cloud o smoke over there $20 cheese burger:lol3

And bloody hell do i get some glares off harley riders,
I was told to be carfull by a friendly harley rider because of the hareley gangs with a violent side might take a disliking to my bike:dunno

But its worth all the pretentious crap just for the chicks that walk up and down hasting street in summer.:tb

Yes, KaTie M tells me every day how happy she is being ridden by a trim, taut, triffic old fart.

You can almost see the smile on her face...

Go on legless, get another one.

    Cheers

A mate of mine used this sequence to illustrate why (in his opinion) the 950 SE is the ultimate forestry gravel racer... :D Complete with "heads up display" on screen mathematical data... :rofl

    100rpm?

    700rpm, for that matter?

or is that ppm, indicating 10% and 70% saturation (of air with gravel) respectively?
