Prolly not, between my broke ass toes and all the 2 wheel slow moving pirate parades that will be on the roads, I think I'll just stay at home.
Re: Riding this weekend? Thinking about it. Wife's family is having an all-weekend deal at NW Arkansas. (Her dad's 85th birthday. He's not doing well.) I know me: I go into "Family Overload" after about 6-8 hours. Doubt I'll spend the night there as she is going to do. No need to detract from her visit with her family by me becoming "ansty" and pacing the floor, etc. Thinking about taking the Harley Ultra up so I can have a way of escape and head back home tonight sometime. Probably take Scenic 71 Loop on the way home. Definitely want to avoid the Pig Trail, right? (Wakarusa?) Of course, I COULD be brave and take the little WR250R... Nahhhh. Vinduroman
Morning y'all! Ya know how you wake up feeling really old some days? Well Joe must be feeling ancient! It's his 58th birthday today! Happy birthday Joey! Charlie
Wait, the pirate parade I understand but your toe's having an ass? Oh, I get it!, their attached to one! Ah.....j/k
Nobody riding eh? I'm gonna ride somewhere Monday. Probably toward the general direction of the Elk River in Missouri via Sugar Creek if anyone wan't to join in?
Happy bday joe! Have a safe trip OJ! Doc we are busy today bit may ride to Eureka tomorrow. Ill let you know if we do.
Are you riding the DR Charlie? I could probably go if mostly backroads/county road. The XT is rarin' to go. It has been in the hot sun at the front porch since the big ride and a shorter ride, and I barely get the button pushed and it fires up perfectly, without choking! Anyway the XT is ready, I am ready, now I just gotta find the (all day) wiggle room. Fortunately since the ex likes to claim she has Elly on holidays (and me the other 97%) Mem day might be free for me and I can clear my head and remember. I actually would not mind a chunk of pavement (to avoid the dust) if 55-60 was enough vroom. this is a big fat maybe on the ride monday, as always. But let us know the meeting loc if the ride happens. I will know either way by sunday(ish) Now back out to the flea-market of a yard I have, getting hot, ALSO: Standing over the bike pondering this Sat morning, here is a bit of XT trivia: The front fender can do a 120 degree backbend for a bit and be back to perfect original (I assume most fenders can do this). Now for a plastic gas tank and skid plate.
I fixed the muffler bracket on XTique. Well sorta, its not going to fall off. I cut a piece of stainless pipe down the length of it. Made a strip about 3/4" wide from it and rolled it around the muffler. Its not as tight as I'd like but its good enough till I think of something else. Pulled the madmax tank from the shed and doing some welding on it. Trying to fix the few leaks it has and clean the welds up and start filling it and hope I can make it look somewhat presentable. It will take XTique from 3.1 gallons to 5 gallons.
