I am the one that called it a zombie purse but I put pictures of the stuff I have been carrying for years

I am in the process of putting together a better set of stuff for my wife in her car (pistol included)

I'm trying to decide between getting a Eberlestock "Halftrack" or "G4 Operator"

These are nearly the only larger packs that are made to accommodate carrying weapons. Call it "tacticool" all you want. I could give a fuck.

If the shit really hit the fan. I mean really hit the fan, I'd be walking. Carrying a CAR-15, probably a Benelli M3 Super 90, and my .45. would be cumbersome and would make you a target. The Eberlestock packs are made to accommodate bringing those along.

Even if I stashed the Benelli somewhere, I could completely hide my CAR-15 in the scabbard built into that pack. The CAR-15's short enough that it wouldn't stick out the top.

My CAR-15 is shorter than the one in the picture.



Add a shotgun scabbard to lash to the side and you can carry all your weapons easily.


The nice thing about the Eberlestock stuff is I can use it without the scabbards as a nice hiking backpack.

But... If you needed it as a "bug out bag", you've got options for making weapons easier to bring along.

Their shit is really nice, and made in Idaho, IIRC.

Much nicer than overpriced imported tacticool ripoff crap that I see a lot of.

Mystery Ranch (Formerly Dana Designs) makes packs for the military, now. Their stuff, which to me looks like a camo'd version of my Dana TerraplaneX , is close to a grand. :huh

The Eberlestock stuff looks like a bargain.

well, having gone the gambit of firearms and blades, i now have neither. i do have a trunk bag with clothes & enough food for a day. water comes and goes by the season, but in winter i just carry daily lunchbox stuff.

i also have a duffel packed with clothes and some necessary things (document copies, duplicate keys, cash, extra credit cards) in the event of fire and i have to race out of the pad at dark o'clock with nothing but a smile.

i live in a mayberry sort of town, so i'm never far away from a thousand stores, gas stations, & restaurants. so i feel like i have a "balanced load" for my situation.

obviously, if i lived out in East Gidordia, Montana or somewhere else remote, i'd approach life a little differently.

So, I am wondering if I am needing one of these zombie man-purses.

I mean, I know I live in a country where it is considered perfectly reasonable to take a drunken mid-winter stroll to the off-licence through snow drifts wearing a t-shirt, shorts and Birkenstocks when the three bottles of wine didn't fill a hole and one feels like a bottle of Smirnoff as well, then dial '999' when it gets wrong and whine that someone didn't rescue one's pathetic self inside 47 seconds, but maybe it's a good idea to prepare a bit.

Let's work out a list of essential items and I'll see what I can throw together.

6 pack of special brew (to blend in with the locals)
Wimpy half pounder (since you're in the old country)
Walkers salt and vinegar crisps
Mars bar
burberry hat ... no one messes with a chav
P-45 ... you'll be needing that when normality returns to get some dole money
