Welp..it's that time agn, Mornin fellers Elvis is trying to top me in flats on his bike :ddog good luck!
Hello all; I have some vacation time that I need to use or lose next week, didn't know if any of you ride during the week, or may work my way up to the Buffalo, MO area to see my 87 yr old aunt, if any one has any suggestions...
There is a ride here in LRK this weekend that I think you might be interested in, Bike and Hike, 20 mile road bike on the River Trail to Pinnacle, hike up and over the mountain then back along the base trail, then 20 miles back to NLR, a benefit for ALS research.
I agree, but I suspect that elvis will have to drive back down to LA to get back into the ole salt mine, and to him, thats work, for us, it's a dream job..speaking of elderly aunts, am taking mine to the Dr for her appointment today..hope to be home by noon, HOPE to be anyway
Kind of shook me up a little. I couldn't seem to get my riding legs back under me for a while after that. I rode like a squid off of the back side.
Nice video Steve. When I lived/rode in Colorado I always hated passing jeeps and other vehicles on the outside in loose scree with those long bottomless descents on the outside. :eek1 Whenever possible I got the jeeps to go to the outside as it was easier on me and my nerves to climb a little rock face, lean the bike over uphill into the mountainside, let them pass me, then proceed...especially when I had a loaded, top-heavy bike. Looks like you're having a ball. Good for you! -JD
Thanks JD! Yeah, it was a blast, but I am with you. I would have felt alot better about the inside line for sure!
Sounds cool, I will be gone to work, and I try not to drive out of town for anything since I do so much of it for work.
Steve, great video! Glad you made it that was a tight squeeze! Hard to get your breath up that high too. At least it was for me. Be safe and have a ball.
This one is 8 min long for you dial up guys but some pretty scenery. <iframe width="960" height="540" src="http://contour.com/stories/hagerman-pass/embed?map=false&width=960px&height=540px" frameborder="0"></iframe>
all it would take would be a bump from the jeep mirror and there is no place on the right to set your foot on, and then you and your bike would be at the bottom, and probably not in fair shape either! :eek1 ALWAYS pass on the uphill side, as JD said!
