My friend stopped by this AM to show off his new toy.

White stuff around the windshield is frost.

One owner, garage kept, 57,000 miles, just had the motor rebuilt, new computer, new battery.

Got a great deal on it: elderly couple didn't use it any more, and were happy to see it go to a good home. Only serious problem: needs a new water pump for the sink. :lol3

It's an '87. Water-cooled motor. Previous owner took delivery in Germany, then bought the truck back home after a trip around Europe.

    I want that!
Our old '74 Westy came with the same story. I think it used to be a popular way to go.
Did I say I want that?

That is what I use our '68 Mog for. The driveway to our vacation rental (SkyLodgeVacation.com 10% off for inmates) is almost a quarter of a mile long. Over the years we've had some epic snow storms that left people stranded at their places until they shelled out for a dozer to clear them out. This little Unimog has pushed heavy, wet snow the size of a small car for very long distances. On low snow years like last I sometimes wish for a plush 1/2 ton with a plow though.

I had the same vacuum pump do the same thing to me when I was driving about a same-year ambulance... problem was I already had a heart-attack patient in the back who I was trying to get to a hospital.

I tried to limp it a little further after the first big shock and standing on the brake pedal with BOTH feet while pulling up on the steering wheel, but the smoke (in the cabin since this was a van) and brakes just got worse from there.

I had to call for a backup ambulance and trade them trucks when they arrived.

Keep in mind this ambulance had less than 100k on it. This got me into looking at how VW and others worked their systems, and at the time I was told VW used gear-driven pumps instead of belt driven. If that's true, then I remain pretty pissed off at Ford.

sorry if this is 205, but i shot these this summer in town when Jeep was doing some promo stuff. They said they weren't really prototypes, more like the engineers just having fun, but they were pretty cool in person and had modern interiors as well..

I love those last 2-doors. I wish the 2-door full size SUV hadn't gone away.
A woman at work, who has since retired had one in pristine condition. It had to be a fleet vehicle. It had vinyl seats, base wheels, and the two headlights. This thing never had a spot of rust, a dent or a scratch on it. She always parked it far away from everything else.

Jeep really should build more vehicles on the Wrangler platform...

The Gladiator Pickup is cool. Give me a V8 and 6,000 lbs of towing, and I'd be "in".

Lose that goofy grill, and it would be thoroughly cool.

    The grill makes it.

    Hell yes.

I've seen some Wagoneers with the old-school grills on and they look badass too. :thumb
