It was a little wet today, but still a good day for a ride. Why there is a concrete cornfield I do not know...

It's a memorial to all of the corn stalks that lost their their lives in the ill fated Kellogg's rebellion during the fall of 1953.

I realized today I never posted pics of my new project bike. 1976 honda CB750 K6 with 42K miles and iffy compression.

Looks like a great start. A top end refresh and some polishing you will be rolling in style in no time.

Oh thank God! scrolling through your post one pic at a time was like a joke with the punch line first, the seat was absolutely the answer to the "what thing doesn't belong?" question. So, so, so much better with the new seat.

You may find that a little running will bring that compression in where it belongs. With those miles though you had better pull the oil pan and look for bits of the cam chain tensioner. A lot of these old SOHC's are starting to have issues with the old rubber on those coming apart.

BTW, I've had my K6 since 1978. My first big bike :)

Quoted for truth. Here's my '68 CB350's cam tensioner after about 25,000 miles. I am doing a top end rebuild now.

Might as well post these here. I was just in Michigan delivering a bed I had built. I stopped by to see a friend of my dad who is a motorcycle collector (among other things). Here is some stuff in his basement. I did not get a chance to get pics of what he has in his storage building, but I've been in there before and there was a line of bikes, each under cover from the front to the back, side by side—more BSAs, a couple World War Two Harleys, Honda Trail 70s, more Harleys of different years and models.

That is a beautiful motorcycle in every way. Although I've gotten turned off to the Harley lifestyle thing, this bike rises above it all. Fantastic.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I love this bike as well and I am happy to say this bike runs as good as it looks.

I can assure you I am completely turned off by the HD lifestyle scene. But I spend as much time around the vintage motorcycle scene as I can, Euro, Jap. British you name it. I've met some great people that share my passion and enjoy life the way I do. Very few around the HD "scene" nowadays even understand this motorcycle which is sad and stunning to me.

Love this site and everything on it but gotta admit to being a Harley tragic. Love the Black pan - that is sweet. Find this one interesting too - WL with pommy gearbox & peanut tank amongst other mods. That would be a fun toy . .
