    Hi Guys!

Apologies if this has been covered before- I did a search and could only find a thread about the Acerbis 3.7 gallon tank for the KLX250.

Seems there are really only two options for the KLX250- Acerbis or IMS. These are the only brands I could find. Perhaps there are others that my google-fu just isn't up to finding ;)

Prices and sizes are about the same, so which one would you folks recommend?

Acerbis 3.7 gallon tank for KLX 250:

or IMS which is sometimes listed as 3.2 gallon and sometimes listed as 3.7 gallon...

Some folks report minor fitment problems, but seems like minor issues; nothing that can't be sorted.

Bottom line, I'd like to get the one that's toughest. I understand these plastic tanks age and eventually have to be replaced. Anyone have experience with these brands and can comment on which one might be best?

    Thanks!

    Tony :)

    I fitted a Clarke.

But its only about 10 litres or 2.6 gallons.
And I don't think it fits anything post 08.

Thanks! Ok, one more to add to the list! How did you choose this brand? Are you happy with it? Cheers! Tony

I can't remember why I chose the Clarke.
    There were 3 options.

The problem with Acerbis was/is that you couldn't use all the fuel in the wings. Blowed if i'm carrying fuel i cant use.
I think the IMS needed a fair bit of modding but I can't remember.

I've sold the bike now but I had no issue.
And I didn't take it easy either. :evil

    Thanks so much Neil!

Those links are awesome! Seems you can't really go wrong with any of those aftermarket tanks I think I'll have to flip a coin to decide!

Final question- my KLX is a 2010 model. I'm pretty sure 2010 (and 2011) are identical to the 2009 other than some color changes, right?

    Thanks again!

Yes I think thats right. 09,10&11 are the same.
But mine is an 06 which is different.
I don't think the tanks in the link for justgastanks I posted will fit a 2010.
    Better check first. :deal
Either kawasaki forums or the long term KLX thread here on ADV are the places to ask such stuff.

I have the IMS tank. The 09+ version is 3 gallons. I'm happy with it, the extra gallon is nice, and the stock side panels still fit...

Thank you all for the helpful advice! Have ordered the IMS from justgastanks and it should reach me here in Thailand in the next week or two! Happy Trails! Tony :rofl
