No problem. I may not be out there either.

Is anyone having any luck logging into the NMTA web site on an IPad or phone? Or is it just me? :scratch

I really have the itch to give trials riding a try. I usually ride desert single track but I would like a trials bike to develop skills for technical terrain. I live in Farmington and I am looking to keep the purchase price lower than 2K. Do any of you have an opinion, seen, or own any of the trials bikes listed at http://www.newmexicotrials.com/ or http://trialdogmotorsports.com/? I have started doing background research on the 2000 290 Sherco that is listed on the new mexico trials web site. Should I save up for a newer motorcycle for better parts availability?

    Thanks for any help.

That sherco has been sold. Anything 2003 and newer should work depending on condition.

It was a fun trials. Especially for Al.

Griz forgot his camera, I was busy being a trialsmaster, Curtis was under the weather (besides my sections kicked some ass with knee high obstacles!) Gordy is bedridden and it was cold once or twice!! Chris Hertrich had low score in the uppers. Sammy had the win ,then missed a split. Rob O smoked. Matt should of rode expert. Sportsman learned to drag the bikes in motion. Fun times!
Al and Porter decided to watch the mayhem.

What timing! I got a whole bunch, besides the two above. I'm trying to figure out the best thing to do with 'em, as well as all the other NMTA web pictures from back towards 2001, plus all the oldies Bud scanned in. I'll try and high-grade the ones from San Y and get some up here.

Results are in post #2. Thanks Curtis! :thumb

Scores look a little high for the first event of a "fun" sport. :twitch
I would be interested to hear what a first timer in the lower classes would have thought about this. I wasn't there so really have no idea. :dunno

Got a few shots of Lowers while scoring. Chilly temps., a few snow flakes and tough sections to start the new season!

I'm guessing I wasn't scoring one of the tougher sections based on the scores as we saw some great rides! Good show everyone!! :clap

Thanks. Unfortunately the newer bikes were out of my price range. I did find this for 500 bucks and I figured it was worth the risk.

I briefly owned one of these (95/96 IIRC) last year. I bought it as a loaner to try and attract a local riding buddy. It wasn't as good as a new bike, but was plenty of fun to ride. If it's in running/riding condition, I think you did very well.
