Ethiopia to Madagaskar

Hi Joe,

I was in Madagascar in September and again in October, as it is such a great country. Very poor but friendly people.


There are plenty of places to go to, but if I was to recommend one it would be Belo sur Mer, on the west coast, about 85kms south from Monrodova via a trail. Have a rest there at the hotel Dauphin. That village is amazing. You can then go on to Tulear.


Also, watch out in the south. It is not as safe as one would like.

Except the rims which are not original, all the other parts are either KTM Power Parts or from Touratech.<o></o>

Hi Joe I would like to know what do you take for a trip like this and how do you pack (paniers, soft bags etc). Also I would like to know if you are going to have a support team with you.

As you see on the pictures, I'm allways traveling with paniers.
And I never use a support team.
It would take to long to write up all the things I'm taking with me.
There is nothing special, but a lot of camera and video equipment and a laptop.

On the equipment preparation, is this a Montana GPS you had on your previous bike? Could you show some mounting photos?

Yes that's the Garmin Montana.
For mounting I used the KTM GPS Holder for the 950/990.

The pictures have been done with Nikon D300/300S
