I agree, I think I'm on my 6th go at it and it keeps getting more fun each time Last time was under 2 hours start to finish

BTW the Marlborough forest gates are open now...I started there, makes a nice addition to the CIS route. I'm, going to make an updated gps file that includes some it, and includes the old rail line we used to come home on.
Whatever you do, be careful of hunters and people out doing shotgun practice. As we rode into the last sandpit just off the 416 we were in range of a dozen people firing in the pits. One guy on a quad stopped us, and radio'd his buddies to tell them to be careful of us. You can hear them firing during this video: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yVw3P9617Lw?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'd be really interested to see the rail trail back!
Add that short diversion from the railbed on that double track threw the bush that began in the pit maybe ?
The forecast for tomorrow looks quite nice. Quantis and I planning to ride, but we don't know where yet. If anyone would like to join us, the more the merrier.
