Anyone know of any performance parts for the PS250 to make it faster? I've only seen a J.Costa Variator and a Leo Vince pipe. Any guess as to what kind of gains I might expect out of these two mods?
DR sliders can be considered performance enhancements too but that, plus your list, seem to be it for the People scoots. The P seems to have the same motor/CVT as the Xciting 250.
A sports variator with a proper (very YMMV thing) setup will make the bike either accelerate better _OR_ have a higher top speed (and you'll be lucky if the acceleration doesn't suffer). Adding JUST the pipe will usually make the acceleration OR top speed worse (yes, you read it right) without the variator modifications. You'll probably gain nothing in terms of power, but the weight difference can be dramatic. That said, you can sometimes achieve what you want just messing around with your stock CVT. Swapping the roller weights for lighter ones will make the engine spin faster, and probably every 4T scooter I've ridden (a lot of them actually) usually spins up to revs around it's maximum torque point, and then builds from there as the speed goes up. Having the engine spin at the revs where maximum power is will catapult you from a stand-still a lot better, and if you don't over-do-it, you won't reduce your current top speed. If you want BOTH, better acceleration AND top speed, I'm afraid you're better off buying a 300+ cc scooter. Get yourself an account on kymcoforum.com too.
