I saw Pics, Pics, Pics and read the rules for this forum, and this may be
borderline to post here, but at least there is a trail in some of the pics.

I just got this rig two weeks ago - I have sort of thought maybe I want one
since I saw one in 2000 or thereabouts.

So far I like it even with all of it's quirks & peculiarities.

I had it on a gravel road, and engaged 2WD, but my camera was gonna get
beat to death in the trunk, so I had to keep that off hwy excursion short :(:
But I'll have to go out and do some offroad riding as soon as life slows down a bit.

    Thanks.
I'm familiar with Mr Cob's pictures... I have already emulated his heel-shifter
modification, though I will reduce the mod a bit in order to clear the kick
starter and because I can feel the shifter in the side of my boot.
I'll also weld on a control horn for a future hand shifter while I'm welding.

But first I have to build a machine gun replica out of wood for the car &
bike show here at work on Friday:evil

Mr Cob's Uraling in Utah pictures are fantastic. I "borrowed" one for a wallpaper
on my desktop... and had a friend who works with my wife sneak it onto my
wife's computer wallpaper when she stepped away from her desk.

The subliminal message(s) worked; when we found a used gear-up at a great price
($7500 for a 2006 with 990 km) she said "We better buy it - a deal like this won't
come up again" (and she is a financial analyst with an accounting degree!).

But it gets even better - now she is thinking we could take both of us and both
kids camping if she had a Ural too![IMG]

I've been trying to justify one of these for a long time.
Since three-wheeling is out of my frame of reference, I don't know where and when I would use it. What do you use it for? Substitute it for any current or past bikes?
And, if anyone out there knows; what are the changes/improvements from '05 to '07?

2007 went from cast to machined gears, which makes the transmission
    shift better and run quieter.

I saw a chart of improvements by year somewhere... if I find it I'll post it.

I ride a ferry every day, and motorcycles don't have to wait in line (up to two hours).

This rig allows me to stop at the hardware store and buy lumber and concrete and such
and be able to transport it home.

I can put my wife on the back & both kids or the dog in the sidecar.

Take a look at some of Mr. Cob's trip reports to see the utility of the rigs demonstrated
in actual use (and many beautiful Pics)

    Here's a good example:

Yesterday, I finally got the justification I need. :wings

I'm turning my back yard into like Disneyland for my 6 new grandkids. Just installed the mother of all swings this weekend.

And now my kids want me to buy a Ural Gear-Up to cart the kids around in. It's a dirty job, but I guess I'd better get on with it. :D

    Howdy Baldy,

    Welcome to the "foil".

Shameless plug here, if my ride reports had a positive influence on your Ural purchase, please send me an email or PM stating this, it will help me keep the small sponsorship I have with IMWA. Thanks. :deal

I love my 06 Tourist, Helga. She is a great gal, plus, I've not ridden my other two bikes since meeting Helga. This has to end, since the others are feeling neglected.:norton
