So far it's a great bike... it rides awesome both 1 and 2 up. I've never ridden a GS so I cannot make a fair comparison between those two....

Seems like a fair price... I paid closer to 14k which also included the Yamaha boxes and skid plate. The Yamaha swag seems more than adequate for general touring, but might fall short for those who require a more "robust" offroad worthy setup.

From what I have read, busted knuckle orange isn't for me. I did get to ride one from Carls and liked it, but I don't enjoy maintenance work at all. I'll do what is necessary but it seems like riding orange requires more time than I have at this point in my life.
