Stock tail works pretty well to carry a small pizza. :clap

That doesn't look like a stock seat. I sat on a Grom (for the first time) at my local Honda dealer today, man what a hard seat, reminds me of my KLX before I had it modified. I must be getting old.

Stock and it is kind of hard just like my KLX seat, only thing is I removed the passenger strap, so I can sit back further and not have that lump under me.

Rode the grom this weekend. Yep it's nothing but fun.

The learning curve for my friend who actually owns it has been steep, it's got broken plastics already.

I started her on my Z50 that has a 90cc Lifan with a manual clutch. I thought she had it figured out. All was well for the first 30 km or so, then after stalling it about ten times she popped the clutch with a whole bunch of throttle and took off with feet dangling in the air. All I could do was try to anticipate where I was going to be picking the bike up from.

It seems no matter how many times I told her to pull in the clutch and roll off the gas when you're in trouble, she froze when the time came. [IMG]

    Oh nooo!
That's exactly my fear and it's why my girlfriend hasn't been allowed to ride the Grom I got her yet. So after I got the Grom I got her an XR50 and a CRF150 for learning. Hopefully she gets those 'panic crashes' out of her system on the dirt bikes. But just in case, I got a spare set of plastics :)

You F@##ing C^$#ing suckers!!! You're the ones that bought all the Groms in the BA!! Can't wait till they get more in stock and we'll do a larger group ride...I'm thinking Three Peaks. The VCLG does it every year on scooters and I done two with them, one on a ruckus in '07 and one this year on an elite110. Takes most the day.

    That's a great picture! :clap

Yep, the Grom is just a kid's bike that will be outgrown in a few weeks...

That's what some have said.

Maybe that is just the advertizing to give the parents a good reason to buy one?

"I bought it for my kid" (Someday I may even let him/her ride it) :rofl

I rode it to work today. It will do 100 km/h when drafting a semi, but without it 95 km/h is pretty much as fast as it will go in flat ground. On the hill a semi had to pass me.

    It's perfect in town though.

Now the rear brake really sucks in my opinion, the pedal is hard but I don't feel like its doing a whole lot, I felt like I was going to bend it before it would ever lock the tire. Is this the way they are or should I be taking it back for repair?

Same with mine. I've gotten it to lock up during some quick braking exercises obliviously helped by the weight off the rear up from the front braking.

I guess... I think it's ok for a rear brake and its definitely better than the drum brakes I've used on several scooters including my wife's PCX.

    :D

Enjoy! Sadly, I couldn't ride to work today, because I had to drive the car with trailer in tow to pick my V7 Racer up from the dealer where it was getting some warranty work. I will be leaving early so I can go for a little ride when I get home though :D

I was just looking around my local honda shop at lunch and asked to see a Grom. "We had one and it sold the day we got it... order them every two weeks and they keep kicking the order out".

Looks like it will be a while before production catches up to demand.

Tail kit needs to be the first purchased mod for any Grom, it looks so much nicer without the stock tail.
