Yep. Picked up something Italian today. No pics yet, as I'm waiting for a part or 2 to make it look perfectamundo (is that Italian?) Wait. Patience. It will taste better if it simmers.
Sleek. A bit retro, but definitely modern. Used, but with only 200 km on it. (there's a hint. Speedo in KM) My daughter has ridden it. :eek Believe it or not. "I'll never ride a motorcycle!" She was scooting all around the parking lot.
Set your Booty. On a Malaguti! Ciak 150 4-stroke big wheels Here's the deal. We went "looking" for scooters (yeah, right) this past Saturday. I really wanted to see a Bajaj Cheetak, so off we went to a dealership in Houston. His shop is full of bikes, but they're all customer maintenance. Apparently, the shop does quite a business. He had this Malaguti on consignment in front. My wife loved it. Her 1st question: "is this a reputable brand?" "Sure," I replied. "It's one of the Big 3 Italian brands, along with Vespa and Aprilia." Her eyes lit up. "You know, it's gonna be more expensive than a Chinese clone?" I probed. "I don't care. Bring it on!" I test drove it. We thought about it overnight, then went over to the shop on Sunday morning and picked it up. Notice it's missing an ear. :eek1 The mirror is in the shop somewhere. If they can't find it, they'll order a new one. We paid too much $. But that's ok. She smiles when she rides it. Oh, I rode it to the gym this afternoon. I had to talk scooter for the 1st 20 minutes before I could exercise.
Yeah. Look at em. 16" of round, rolling rims. Yeah, sleek and slim. Do these larger tires make any difference compared to smaller tires? Hell, I dunno! My wife thought they looked cool. A nice mixture of modern and retro. I agree. Interesting that I haven't even read the manual. "Your scooter. Get the manual, read it, and tell me how to check the oil, what tire pressure to use, where the battery is, where you check brake fluid, and most importantly, where you add gas." She looked at me kinda funny, but did it. She now officially knows much more about the bike than I do.
Yeah, it's all a state of mind.. Don't Harley riders call their bikes scooters? Nice scooter, or whatever..... no honest!
