Triumph Scrambler

Appreciate the info mate, thanks, especially in KPH, as it is down here!

I did some two up touring on the weekend, all black top, but up some open free flowing mountain twisties holding 80-100kph easily in 5th gear, drop back for passing

So with an extra 65kgs than I normally carry, stock pipes, filter etc I still returned 21.93 km/litre fuel economy

Knock yourselves out with the conversion, but I was pretty happy with that

Stock seat was fine too, two hours in my bum was numb, but that was more a result of being lockd into position by a pillion.

Need to get her a back rest so she's not afraid to sit right back in the seat!

You can also stick a handle up their *** and use them to wash the bike.

I broke my foot peg off today

Although its fold up, it didn't seem to fold up to well, maybe because my foot was on it! (dont ask)

It snapped around the bold holding it in, and being cast shite metal, no chance of a mend I would say

Any idea about the cost of replcement? I bet Triumph see me coming ($$$$$)

Is there a proper off-road type aftermarket replacement that would fit?

Here's another dumb suggestion: Can you move one of the back pegs to the front?

Fixed it.

I looked at the pillion pegs -could work something out short term, but they are differnt, the rider pegs hang lower off a bend at the end of the peg shaft, where the pillion pegs attach straight out of the shaft.
Alriht in teh short term, but I would like the extra near-inch lower the correct peg gives

I'll just replace it with a Triumph item probably - and learn my lesson for a being a goose!

Lets just say I bought new disk lock - and it works really well

If you are going to use a disk lock - only ever park where you have to reverse to get out - front wheel to the curb or against the wall.
Everyone ****s up occasionally and a 'crunch' when toeing it backwards is a lot better than 'crunch' when gassing it.

I didn't have the alarm fitted though - which would double as a stupid siren!

The Stupid Siren! There's a comedy routine right there.

My thought usually goes - why did I park like that you fool???...oh yeah - the disc lock....duh.

Potentially making a target of myself, but is a disk lock really thought to be necessary? I thought sport bikes were the target of choice for theft.

Sport bikes have high demand, and are generally easy to sell. I don't particularly worry about my Triumph in Portland, but then I don't park it on the street for very long.

My other bikes have been outside for ages, no locks, no worries, but they were older and not that attractive

I live in a really safe suburb, but that didn't stop some bored scab setting my car on fire literally across the street in April last year.

I live near a few hotels, don't need pissed idiots playing games

Triumph might not be a major target, but why risk it (the lock came with the bike, and is worth more in insurance policy reduction than its cost)

You two smart-asses might think about duct taping your nuts up pretty high if some of these BT and ST owners bring their dogs to a Scrambler rally.

Why? Are Bonneville T-100 and Sprint ST owners notorious nut grabbers?

I think a rat terrier would be cool too. They are actually smart and dont bark all the ***king time. The only small dog I respect.

I just cant imagine my great dane sitting on the tank...

Slightly back on topic...
I almost went to the local dealer today to find a suitable windscreen for the Scrambler. Other than the Triumph flyscreen, what are you using for a windscreen, and are you happy with your choice?
