I think I'll bring up my own for sale posts here now then too. You know and you've seen the bike, now own a (major) part of it or the whole damn thing. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=849900 http://wr250rforum.forumotion.com/t8299-pfs-parting-out-my-wr
Could you PM me I just got a WR250R and I need skidplate, rack, and maybe some other goodies. Mine is (now) bare bones stock. Thanks
If that's a low Seat Concepts seat let me know what you want for it! Just picked up a 2008 WR250R.....
Catching a lot of PMs.......patience Grasshoppers.....I need to tear the bike apart, put the list together for Flea Market and/or EBay.....please give me a couple weeks....
Crawdaddy, I'd be interested in your airbox if you part her out. Have a friend that needs one for an airbox project. SCQTT@yahoo.com Thanks man
Thanks, and I realize I'm probably way over thinking this. BUT the picture from the FMF site corresponding with that part # 011393 shows a bag of bulk packing material. Everything I have read online shows people using a sheet or pillow type packing kit, hence my continuing confusion.
Without searching through the entire thread for comments, what's recommended in terms of a shop manual? I see Haynes has one...how is it? I know on some models they can be hit and miss. Can always spring for the Yamaha manual, but it's 3x the price. Mostly looking for torque values, wiring diagrams, etc...hopefully not going to have to worry about a major rebuild of anything.
10 bucks for one on a CD. http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-WR25...anuals_Literature&hash=item232622d7d2&vxp=mtr .
I bought my bike about 2 months ago. Had 10 000 maintenance and had her to the woods 4-5 times since. I clearly remember one of the guys took the air filter, used an air gun to clean the filter and put it back. Anyway, I bought a twin-air filter and no-toil filter oil. I had a chance to change the air filter tonight, but first I went downstairs to take off the old one. As I opened the air filter cover, I got very mad, because there was dust in the clean side of the filter. The filter was completely black in color and full of dust. So, I don't know what should I do right now, should I change the engine oil, because some dirt has clearly past the filter and got the the engine block. Or is there something I can do to prevent future damage ?
Some of the cds and even some manuals that state they are Yamaha, are not. I would rather pay the dealer, than a rip off person. Ok, just my opinion. If you know your dealer very well, ask them for the build sheet that comes with every bike. It will have the torque specs and other useful info. This should be free if the build guy is not a dick. Again, some of the shops do not work with the paper manual and prefer the cd. I was able to buy the shop manual for 50.00. Not bad. Yamaha manuals are not the best in the world. Honda's are much better. Yamaha's leave a lot out or up to your imagination..
Sometimes it is best to do the maintenance yourself. What damage has been done, is done. I would change the oil and filter and install the new filter with filter oil and never let someone else work on your bike. Also make sure to clean any dirt in or around the throttle body before your start it.
The ravens are starting to circle..... Happy New Year...... and may "team orange" treat you well in 2013 !!
