Vegas to Reno is coming soon....!

I've looked around and haven't been able to find a 3.3 (+/-) gallon tank for my 2013 500xcw.

I would strongly prefer a natural, transparent plastic rather than orange or black.

Any suggestions? I would like to run the stock shrouds and not mess with the 4+ gallon tank set up.

    Any help would be appreciated,

Is an option but it has seen issues, I am not sure if they are making them again or not.

I've been using the Clockworks tank on my '08 530 EXC-R for years and love it. I've had no problems. I'd look into them if they make one for your bike.

they do make they but they have had a few challanges when they were first released. they may be fixed but not sure as I went a different route. Acerbis also makes a 3 gallon i think that is availble in clear and they are really nice tanks.

here is a link to both...

If Acerbis makes it, I'd buy it. Have never had any other tank that's equalled the fit and finish of Acerbis tanks. Can tell that they're not just hand-shaped, adding volume to stock tanks with foam and bondo like a lot of the other companies.

I have the 5.3 in natural on my 500 XC-W. So yes it fits.

Looking for some insight on battery tender interactions with XCW. I hooked up a tender directly to the battery and the "FI" light and associated relays cycle on and off every 10 secs or so. When I remove the tender all goes back to normal. Its like it is going through a start cycle, without the starter been activated whent the tender does its cycle. Any thoughts or clues appreciated. I believe the manual says not to charge the battery while it is connected to the bike. Kind of a bummer. I still do though.

update.........switched to a different tender and problem went away. Switched back and problem returned. Must be that the one tender is triggering an ignition cycle with the ECU. Weirdest darn thing. Something to keep in the back of your mind if anyone else has it happen.

The bad tender was hooked to a Harley over the winter... so there may be some connection:evil

Somebody talked about a capacitor in the circuit? I suppose that would work, but it will also drain over time too.....

    Argh!

Deposit is in...just need to find a bike. My dealer is looking and looking for me - lots of EXCs available, but no XCWs - at least none that any other dealers are willing to part with.

    Mr. Geek,

Have you made any progress on the wiring and recorded it with your usual meticulous methods? :D

My Berg has the same rats nest stuff going on and I'd like to clean it up a bit.

Man I really like the head light. If you could/would, any chance of a build list of parts and manufactures-links?

It's a trail tech headlight, and I am about to leave on a 2-week trip, but will do a "build" reply upon my return - truth is, I am only about half-way finished with what I want to do with the bike.
