Almost half time, so much for my desire for no mistakes-- three fumbles all resulting in Bronco TDs. D looks demoralized. Offense can move the ball, but then fumble
Can you say Ball? Can you say Montee? Man I hope the Patriots draft that kid. He is killing Big Red. The Huskers have found life, but enough to beat the spread? Texas, I am sending my horns back.....pheh.
Pretty convincing win at The United States Air Force Academy today. These scores are crazy today. A bunch of teams scored 40+ and lost. 1506 total yards in one game!?! Its a different era.
You might want to keep those horns, looks like Texas has found a QB. Now they just need to find their defense.
I could not get the game...I'll have to take your word for it. The ducks look good. They may just have something for the SEC.
UNM vs Boise State post game. Started out with a tailgate "light", no grilling, no shade set up, just a table and chairs. Blake's Green Chile Cheeseburgers, beer, chips & dip. Good to see some friends that I hadn't seen in months. Boise State had a solid contingent. My friend had just spent a work week in Boise-shared a flight to ABQ with many on Friday and had nothing but good to say about Boise and BSU fans. I agree. A good lot. note sign in the middle. Pre-game I had asked for "minimize mistakes" and so UNM fumbled 3 times resulting in 18 points for BoiseSt-- despite these gals best efforts. The New Mexico highlight of the first half was at the quarter when the Eastdale Softball players were recognized for their Little League WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP. Boise State had people in war paint. UNM had real Indians-- and cars with Mohawks Down 25-0 at the half things didn't look good for NM. Boise State marched down to the four, went for it on fourth down, but NM's here to fore lackluster D held. Employing a pure option attack, lead by true Freshman QB Cole Gautsche (Tim Tebow without the throwing arm). marched down to score a touch down. 96 yard drive After a Bronco fumble returned to inside the five and another touchdown these Lobos weren't looking like the Lobos of Locksley who would have folded by now. Yes, there was some piss and vinegar in this bunch. As the full moon rose over the stadium, the Lobos began to Howl. But NM's D continued to be overmatched. Consistently allowing third down conversions. Boise State has some solid receivers, particularly TE #85. Boise State also knew they could pick on NM's CB #13 who makes up for his lack of size by slowness. Boise State may not be enamored with their QB, but against NM he looked like a solid college QB. Not a star by any means, but able to throw pretty well. NM got it close. 32-29. The Lobo defenders were able to finally stop BSU with about two minutes to go, but NM was stopped for four downs turning the ball back to BSU. BSU with a big play was able to get to first and goal. They then showed class by going into Victory Formation ending the game. Good job Boise State. Have to say it was fun cheering for NM, especially cheering for them in the fourth quarter. It has been a long time since we've been able to do that. NM still has a ways to go to be at the top of the league, but I think they are now on the right track. UNM 29 Boise State 32
That looks like a heck of fun day there Jurgen. UGA survived the day against UT. Tough fought game on both sides of the ball for both teams. Tyler Bray can really sling that ball and UT were a couple dropped passes away from beating UGA yesterday. The 2 freshman running backs from UGA rushed for 294 yards and 5 touchdowns between them. Great game, and no injuries. Good day of football in Athens. Next up is another huge game for UGA as we head into Columbia, South Carolina and play a tough Gamecock team. Hopefully we have revenge on our mind from last year when they came into our house and beat us.
Thanks - we got lucky after a 25-0 first half. Have not had a complete effort all year but......3-1. Heartburn - guess everyone needs a bit of excitement. Like your Frosh QB Cole Gautsche. As soon as he learns how to throw New Mexico will be on a roll. Great game. Nevada and Fresno State will be interesting. We gotta finish.
Gautsche was considered quite the catch. He lead the relatively new Cleveland HS (here in Rio Rancho) to the state championship and had signed with NMSt. When UNM hired Bob Davie, Guatsche reconsidered and signed here. But, a comment from a friend after Gautsche's first game... "He's a local, how come no one knew he couldn't throw?" ---- UNM has Texas State next year, one of my "possibles" from the beginning of the season. If we keep winning our "possibles" NM could end up with four or five wins. And it is clear the team already is heading in the right direction.
Has Erin Andrews' voice gotten more annoying since she moved to FOX? And FOX doesn't seem to show her on camera nearly enough. Shootout in the OSU-Texas game. 14-14 in the first quarter.
