    Dear Raul,

The tdm are very reliable. Thera are known case in which they heve exceded 200000 miles (adica 320000 de km). It will serve you well in the high end speed, but will lose a bit of it's offroad capabilities compared to the TA. It is heavier, front wheel is smaller.

A pain in the back will be the position of the battery, there have been some oil consumption problems,... wait... here is a complete list: http://jbx9.free.fr/tdm/index.php?page=ISSUES

    2 - TDM850
    2.1 - Gearbox
    2.2 - Oil consumption
    2.3 - Frame crack
    2.4 - Gearbox sprocket
    2.5 - Carburetor emulsion tubes / needles
    2.6 - Valve seals
    2.7 - Regulator-rectifier
    2.8 - Battery removal

    Dry tarmac! Asfalt uscat!

    auch! now you scared me...
question: i see that german tdm's are a little more expensive that hungarian tdm's and romanian tdm's are really low priced. what i am concerned is that all have low milleage. 30-40.000km

Raul.... don't be put off by that list.

I've an 07 TDM900 and have had no troubles at all. I ride very long distances often and on all sorts of roads here in Australia.

Ive only ever had the battery out once in 88,000k's

I get 23.47 k's per liter almost always. The worst ever was 19k's/ltr on a shocker of a day with massive high winds.

I would..will have another one. Its that good.

and a goot thing is that you can't modify the odometer with the tdm 900, by fakeing the real mileage so what you see is what you get :D

Similar tread pattern to the Pirelli MT 90 A/T on mine. Standard size, 110-80-/18. It's a good tire too, on & off seal but it is wearing quickly.

    Thanks AdvRich!
    Nice to be here :D
I've been around here for a while but never signed up.

That explains a lot about the front rim.
it will bring me some job to choose Heidenau....
i've to raise the front fender and i must extend the brake hose
Maybe i just go for at Michelin Sirac (rear reversed) in front and Anakee 2 in rear when it's time to change.

Thanks again AdvRich for your time! :thumbup

Sound good 10Hult. Yeah, the more gravel/dirt front tire choice really comes down to what is available to us in our locations.

Nice looking 9'er. I too dig the look of those black Trax boxes.

    Hi /10hult

These extensions are specific to a model of TDM GT that is released in France.
I do not know if they can be buying in another country.

On the bubble and black wind deflectors, just makes you at any Yamaha dealer and order the following

    ref YMFTDMGT0300 -> Bubble GT
ref YMFTDMGT0700 -> Left Hand Deflector
ref YMFTDMGT0800 -> Right Hand Deflector
