check his progress now... how long till he runs out of fuel for crying out loud?
He must have also passed the stranded Helder...

Is there any award for screwing up your navigation that badly? There should be :ear

Breauxman Live FB update:

Helder Rodrigues Update:
Technical problem at KM 58 on Special Stage 4. Johnny stopped to assist (part of job description) and then the other Honda rider Pozzilito stopped with Helder and Johnny continued on. Tough day for Honda's yet Brazil's Felipe Miranda-Zanol gets 3rd for the day, holding 4th OA.

I would love to have a job stopping to assist. :D

Shame man the poor guy. I can think of nothing worse that that feeling of knowing you are hopelessly lost and running out of water time and fuel. Gotta feel for the guy.

Juan Pedrero on today:

"Today's stage was very hard. In the initial stage, at kilometer 50, when he was going up positions I made a navigational error that made me lose a lot of time. There was so much dust in piste've taken a wrong turn. It was the checkpoint, so I had to go back to find the right path. The navigation has been very difficult, because there were many areas that crossed tracks, winding but very fast, and I've noticed especially that I lacked experience, because it is my first Rally of Morocco and this is very different from what I know of South America.

It has also been hard on the dunes, because we had many miles of sand, especially an erg of 12 kilometers at the end, with very soft sand, which has made the stage was very demanding. The positive is that I'm much better than I did the injury in the leg on the first day and on the bike I feel comfortable and fast. "

So is Rodriques out if he doesn't finish a stage or do they slap him with a big penalty?

A few guesses:

- It was some rider quote a few posts back that said it was something like 42 degrees today? Vapour lock?
- Or maybe he banged up his skid plate on the left side (which hosts the fuel pump)... Perhaps the weird placement of the fuel pump down there as discussed in the Honda thread is to blame
- Injection problems from dirty fuel? Hmmm back to the PGM_FI drawing board

I haven't heard of anyone else having fuel quality issues today (yet)

I don't think there's a chance HRC will be honest if a problem is some juicy mechanical oversight. "Fuel issue" is as vague as PR men can do.
If they can blame it on the rider then maybe will know.

Number 48 and 51 still making steady albeit slow progress at the back of the pack. Don't know why but I always find it facinating to keep track of whoever is in last place each day...they get alot more for their money than the others who are just flying along, ignoring the scenery, etc :D

Honesty is a bit different than providing the competition with an insight into your weaknesses. This is the exact reason why every F1 mechanical failure is blamed on the gearbox unless smoke is billowing out of the exhaust.:lol3
