I bought my KTM from Ben and I couldn't say more nice things about him. Since buying it, I get all of my spares from him. I'm a online shopper convert.

I wish I knew how to not pay taxes. I'm picking up a Berg this weekend from MI. I know I'm going to get hit hard with taxes, and don't know if I'll be able to get a plate. The owner says the title says "motorcycle" nothing about "off road" on it. I should be able to go to the DMV show them the title and get a plate, right?

I would think so. If you're not in crook county , you dont have to pay the added tax . If the Berg had a plate before , it should be easy to get it again . My XR title came back ''clean'' of any notations , I will try to get a plate for it this winter .

And, as long as you're buying from a private seller, the Sales Tax will be $25 (outside of Crook County) regardless of purchase price. As long as the bike was originally street legal (IL is now starting to crack down on this, like IA), you should be able to get a plate for it.

I'm in Crook County. I don't think the seller had it plated. I'll find out tomorrow or Sunday.
