Sorry the pic was actually in Minnesota on Grey Cloud Island along the Mississippi. I had said the Z was from WI
Gotcha. I've spent a lot of time on the WI/MN border running the Miss, I still think I recognize that area. I used to live by Lacrosse, so that side of the state was a good playground for 10 years.
How are you doing with the white/orange/black paint scheme? I debating between a used W/O/B '10 and a leftover black/green '11. I probably like the green better - it is a fire-breathing Kawasaki - but the used '10 is a better deal. I don't know if I'll get tired of the look over time.
I like the pearl white and orange for now. Could always spray over a new color, or plasti dip it. Make it yours, and have fun. I just seen an '11 green one on craigs for 6k, here http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/mcy/3373968095.html
Not completely dead... The Z1000 is my first bike and I still have it. I'm still enjoying it and I might actually do some mods to it this year. 38,000 miles on mine. Only about 8,000 of those were me though. On to a few pictures. I love the way the tail looks. How it tapers down to a single point and the way the exhaust matches the same angle. I catch myself thinking of a bee's stinger. Plazma Blue in the sun might be even cooler than Kawi Green. Previous owner gutted the mufflers and I have matured into someone who doesn't need 135dB exhaust anymore. Searching for an ebay special on a 4-into-1 muzzy system. I might also pick up a stock muffler set up for my summer adventure. I would prefer to not have to wear ear plugs every time I fire the Z up.
SouthWade - I just noticed that your bike was stolen. That sucks big time man. Good luck finding it.... or replacing it.
nice bike monster you should get an aftermarket exhaust, cans at least anyway, plenty of aftermarket pipes with baffles so not too loud. the massive weight saving is worth it alone. when i refitted the stock cans to my Z1000 i felt like i was riding everywhere leaning back lol could really feel the extra weight on the back
Yeah, I just noticed this morning (or last night) as well. Sucks man, I really like the pictures you took of it. Good luck on the insurance claims, police reports, and the whole process of either getting yours back, or buying a replacement.
Southwade - If you get a new Z1000, I'll let you park it in my garage. I'll take real good care of it. haha... It's not too soon for jokes yet is it?
