Shifting sucks

1978 CB400A. these pics are from the day i put some Sportster mufflers on. the PO scrapped the rusted-out originials before I bought it. it needs some tank paint, a seat recover, and a new CDI.

My 99' 600F4.




Checking valves, new plugs, replaced a couple cracked vacuum lines, air filter, prefilters and fuel filter. Ran good before doing that...runs great now!

I just bought a 1993 CBR1000F.

Nexxus pipes, s/s headers, wing-rack for luggage.

I actually prefer the 1995/96 colour scheme (black/grey/yellow), but couldn't pass this up.

I have this bike 15yrs,the longest I've kept a road machine----

Nice find Ray. Judging from the position of those bars, it looks like the riding position is very neutral and comfortable.

Yes, it is.

Someone asked if the bike has risers, but afaik that's the stock position.

Bought in October last year..

now being rebuilt as a Cafe Racer.

This is my '12 CBR600RR in Death Valley. It was a short weekend trip from the Los Angeles area.

I see I'm going to have to read this whole thread...You all have some really nice bikes!!

Here is a very brief summary of my affair with the CBR platform...

First it was a new red 2006 600RR


Then that bike became silver


Then I sold that one and bought a new black 2007 600RR


Which I had for exactly 4 years, 36,000 miles, raced it, was absolutely in love with it, and it eventually became this:


Unfortunately, I had to sell it in 2011, before I embarked on a 16 month, solo bicycle tour of the entire USA.

Got home a few months ago, and last Saturday I went down to LA to buy this 2008 600RR, with 620 miles on it:


I rode it home 8 days ago, and immediately tore it down to the motor+frame, and have been meticulously rebuilding it to my standards. I will finish the rebuild tomorrow.

Here is my current set up with a picture from a recent trip to test out my stuff before a trip next month out west. It is lacking tent /sleeping bag in this photo. This is my main transportation as I haven't had a serious car for several years. The rear luggage is currently a permanent set up. It is fairly stock, aside from the mix of aftermarket/oem bodywork and luggage. I didn't feel the need for to many mods with this motorcycle, just the urge to ride.
