I got my ticket. Unfortunately it is for the Formula Run foot race around the track on 11/3 and not the real thing. However it will be cool to actually get on the track.

In-laws got tickets for the race, Grandstand...I'm so fucking jealous. I used to work at Silverstone so got to see a lot of F1 racing, you just can't beat the sound and smell.
I'm thinking of going for the GP in April. :clap

The way the season is shaping up, this will be a very important race on an unfamiliar track. It is going to be a fun weekend.

I did the Formula Run yesterday. The track itself is great but I was surprised at how much construction is still going on in the infield. They were still building bleachers and doing a bunch of earthwork. The main grandstands seem to be finished and the only work I saw going was minor punchlist type activity in the garages. That first corner is going to be awesome. I predict a lot of carbon fiber in Turn 1 on Lap 1 come raceday.

Getting to the track is going to be a total clusterfuck though. 5000 people did the run and traffic was backed up for 1.5 hrs to get into the track. It was super foggy but there are other issues. The main entrance to the track is fed by a two lane road. This road intersects a toll road but the exit off the toll road to it is only one lane. If you are heading southbound on 130 then you are screwed by this traffic flow. Definitely take public transportation to the track and plan for it take at least 3 hrs to get there.

Anyone know if this will be broadcasted on local stations or do you need sat/cable to watch?

Speedvision has it. Channel 607 on Direct TV. So cable or sat is needed.

    AKA SpeedTV.
