I am trying to do a ride report.

Twice I have keyed in particularly long posts, when suddenly they just disappear! :eek1

Why does this happen? Am I accidentally fat fingering the "make all the crap I typed disappear" key?

There's a limit on the number of characters in any post. If you go over that, your posts will disappear. Make your posts shorter, and split the long bits across several posts. It's easier to read and will keep readers interested longer.

It's kind of handy to write your text in a text editor of word processing program and paste it in. (Paste as plain text.) That way, the chances of losing it are much less.

There's a 40,000 character limit per post. If you exceed this, when you hit Submit you should get a warning that you have exceeded the character limit but your post should not disappear.
