Anyone tried this product yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=SjYgV8xTqPU Yes the pitchman needs to go, otherwise... Any comments, good, bad, indifferent...
Never heard of it, but it didn't seem to grab my attention like the Skene Design P3 or other flashing rear lights.
I have to agree, it didn't appear all that bright. But I do like the sensor that allows it to blink when slowing down, even if you aren't using the brake. I wonder if you can purchase the sensor separately and wire it up to some brighter bulbs. OMG, if I had to watch that pitchman one more time, I would have to shoot myself. I'll bet he was beat up a lot in school. As bad as Vince the Sham Wow guy is, this guy has him beat by a mile.
As much as I've spent a good part of the past 8 years reading this forum, I can't believe I never came across this post. Anyhow I work for Whitehorse Gear Motorcycle Outfitters in New Hampshire. I've been testing gear here and helping customers since 2002. I've had the Strobewise on my V-Strom for over two full years. I wouldn't ride without it on any bike that has an electronic speedometer. I don't know how anyone might think it's not that bright. It's mil-spec bright and there's something about it, not sure why, that keeps other road users off your ass. It's remarkable how effective it is. Maybe they think you're an authority bike or something. I've been meaning to get some video up on this but there are some still images take in and around the Whitehorse Gear garage. You can see them here. http://www.whitehorsegear.com/strobewisetm-deceleration-warning-device This thing is BRIGHT. No question this device is expensive. I think it's worth every dime. The hook up is simple, just three wires and mounting a light and velcro-padding a small processor box somewhere. If anyone wants to know more about it, reply here or PM me or call Whitehorse Gear 800.531.1133 if that's allowed in this forum. If not I apologize in advance!
I realize this post is quite old, but I am not finding any current info on the www on these strobewise lights? I'm not even sure if the strobewise website is still active. I did find that Whitehorse still lists them, although your link above can't find the site. Did they change the name? Do you know anything more current about the product. If they're off the market, why? Any updated info you might have info on these lights would be appreciated. Thanks.
Here's a link to the Strobewise 2 at Whitehorse gear: http://www.whitehorsegear.com/strobewise2. There's also a more expensive Strobewise G4 on Amazon, can't tell what about it might be better. The strobewise.com web page is useless. EDIT 2015-11-01: that link no longer works, and searching for "strobewise" at the Whitehorse site doesn't find anything. It looks like Whitehorse no longer carries the Strobewise.
Here is the working site: http://strobewise.com/for-sale/ Very interesting - uses the speed pulse input, not an accelerometer or mercury switch. I wonder if you could plug this into the GPS plug common to almost every BMW. I think I'll shoot them an email.
