The Velorex sidecar looks like a nice match to the KLR. I've got a DMC Enduro/KLR rig myself. I hope you have as much of a blast with yours as I do with mine! :D

Nice looking rig. I would replace the flat plate on the subdrame for some tubing. At some point the flat plate will crack where it is welded to the tubing.

Don't want to take away from this thread/steal any thunder away from cwadej. I've got a few threads 'd started with pics of my rig... here's one: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=814426 I really enjoy the KLR/light enduro style sidecar combo. I suspect the Velorex would likely feel and handle similar.

I know this is an old thread for a bump; however curious about the final outcome? What would you do differently now. Any suggestions for a KLRista and the DMC Sputnik rig. Very seriously considering pulling the trigger for my 2006.

It drove great. the hack calmed it down on the highway.

be prepared to never go the speed limit into the wind or uphill. Look into have the forks worked. Makes steering so much easier. Do the Eagle Mike frame bolt if the DMC sub frame bolts to the KLR sub frame. I'm pretty sure it does.

then be prepared to have a ton of fun.

Sadly I sold it about 2 years later. A friend had a bad accident, and could no longer balance a bike due to leg strength. He loved the KLR's he always ridden, and needed a sidecar.

Scrappy old Dale is still out there riding, well into his 80's
