Anyone know if there is BMW cigarette lighter plug with usb port for charging iPhones and so forth? I found plenty for a standard car socket but none for BMW motorcycle auxillary sockets.
    Thanks

Thanks amigo. I currently use that option but was seeking to have a single USB plug made for the BMW socket.

You could also hardwire a female USB connection to the bike. Or you could cut out the middle man and just hardwire an iPhone charger to the bike. That's what I recently did for my Galaxy S3. It's sooooo much better than plugging into the cigarette lighter. It's weatherproof, so I don't have to worry about unplugging in heavy rain, the plug stays in the waterproof mounted phone case permanently, so I never have to search for the plug to plug in, and it frees up my 12V for anything else I might happen to need to plug into it. I wish I had hardwired the charging cable long ago.

Thanks to all the posters. But being cheap, as well as lazy, I am looking for the simple cig plug with USB connection--like the white one shown above but for BMW socket.

    Don't do that.

    1) USB = 5Volt. Not 12 Volt.

    2) USB connectors are not water proof.

    ---------------------------
Car type cig plugs/sockets are not normally rated for water, nor are they vibration proof (think washboard). The DIN (That BMW use on there motorcycles) plugs/sockets are better.

Just in reply to this above (sorry for the hyjack) the 3BR convert to 5V in the socket head - they also have a 2V for iPads/Iphones

For the question at hand - soory I don't know of an "powerlett" to USB

I guess I should have specified when I said to hardwire it that I meant to get a hardwire kit that has a voltage regulator that brings the voltage down from 12 to 5 volts. I didn't mean to suggest that someone should cut a USB cord and blindly attach it to their battery! But, I guess that should have been clarified to avoid any misunderstandings. :beer

There are plenty of very cheap hardwire kits for a variety of applications. You can get weather resistant models too. The one that LaurelPerryOnLand posted is an example of a weather resistant USB. They also sell marine grade cigarette lighter plugs that can withstand the elements.

I bought a cheap cigarette lighter plug from Radioshack and put a shit-ton of silicone caulking on it to weather and vibration proof it. It has worked flawlessly for the last 20,000 miles, including lots of rain (plus usually stored outside in the rain).

While that has Powerlet stamped on the side of it, it is states and shows a standard cigarette lighter to USB adapter. And over priced, I might add.
