When I arrived in Veracruz, I had been arguing with the voice in my helmet. It wants to know what I am doing and I could not answer with satisfactory manner. At this moment of the trip, I am having such an identity crisis.

I had to admit after traveling so far, I realized that I have no idea what I am doing. That is a very scary thought thousands miles away from home.

So after leaving Veracruz, I decided to do what I can do best; enjoy the ride and be in mercy of natives.

The ride out of Veracruz was bit confusing and I took the wrong turn, found myself enroute to Oxaca. instead of Yucatan. So I went to Oxaca.

On the way I met group of native bikers following a truck. So I followed them.

When they stop, I stop and we talk.

They tell me they are going to Juquila. After moment I learn they are pilgrims going to the town of Juquila.

Trust me, going through the mountain with small cc local bikes is not a easy task.

That afternoon I made wise decision to quit early and found a wonderful spot at Yetla.

They have a beautiful facility run by the native community.

At Yetla, I encounter another sign about Juquila and the virgin.

I woke up and rode on to Oxaca.

It was cold at the summit. I had chocolate and it was very good.

    Later more pilgrims I passed.

    They are from Chiapas.

And I got to Oxaca. I checked into the worst hostel ever for 80 peso. They had really easy parking, but that was about it. I would not recommend the place even to my enemy.

Next morning I track down the hostel I stayed few years ago.

Hostal Pochon was still there but the owner has changed.

I met fellow adv rider Mark at the hostel.

By this time my thought is on the virgin of Juquila.

Mark is on his way to Puerto Escondido, so I decided to ride along.

    Sorry no pictures of Oxaca.

We got to P.E. Mark found cool hotel for really good deal.

Now I am ready to ride to Juquila and see for myself what this is all about.

After huge breakfast, I finally embark on the pilgrim to Juquila.

    Here is Juquila.

That is the closest I got to the sactuary. After this point you have to walk. With my mx boots, I declined.

    But I saw these......

Today I ride along the pacific side of Oaxaca and Chiapa.

Mex 200 is amazing up to this point.

I explore Tonala and deeper into Chiapa pacific side. I rode to Boca del Cielo. It is a total tourist trap. If any of others think otherwise, please correct me.

I decided to take the quota and be at Tuxla Gutierez in day light.

Tuxla Gutierez is a modern city. It lacks old colonial look, but it has it's own chalm around the civic center and beyond.

Today I arrived at San Cristobal. I took libre for I had plenty of time.

Tuxla to San Cristobal libre is an amazing twisty with Impressively well maintained condition.

I got a bed in this place.

    Quick look around the town.

These houses remind me of my old country.

    Young pilgrims....

Today is Mecado day for me.

    Total cost is 120 peso.

    The Mecado was amazing place.

    Now for my soul....

These women chants in indigenous tongue.

On the way back to hostel, I saw this.

I learned today Dec. 12, 2012 is not the end of all things. It is Dec. 21, 2012. I was disappointed, but oh well.....

But 12/12 is a big day to celebrate the Virgin if aGuadalalupe. So I did.

    Every Mexican is a Guadalupian!

When you see a group of pilgrims from far away, and hear there simple, but beautiful song of devotion and love for her, you will be moved.

    Its good for business too.

    I love this city.

Next day we rode to Escacega and had breakfast.

Erin and Zack went toward Belize, I rode to Campeche.

I found the only hostel with interior parking. Hostal Pirata is not the most valued, but they have the best parking option for motos.

Today I am riding to Merida.

I stop by Edzra. Edzra is not as popular with tourist. They only begun to excavating here 50 years ago. They still don't know the full scale of these sites.

Left Merida and rode to Chitchen Itza. I couldn't find a decent lodging there, so I continue to Valldolid.

I found very nice hostel in Valldolid. Also met a bicycle traveler from Japan. He is going all the way down and around.

They built this road for the big hole near by.

    Not much has changed since.

At the end of the road, the big hole.

Chitchen Itza has the biggest ball court in Mayan world.
