One of the coolest things when we first moved to WA was seeing the Eagles in our trees... Simply a slice of heaven one moment at a time.

    Thanks for posting these pics!

    Thanks!

One of the many beauties of the Silver Valley, ID.

Unnamed peak, south of Kellogg Peak, north of Silver Hill. Easily accessible by any bike or quad. Anyone can PM me for directions.

I can't cross this peak without stopping and enjoying the view and solitude.

May - Hwy 36 trip. It's going to be an annual trek, at this time of the year - perfect weather, not hotter than hell like summer.

I'll post some pics here to summarize my 2012 M/C season. It was an incredible year for me from an adventure vacation standpoint. Motrocycleing was only a small part of it.

In between, I spent my time in the Yukon Territories (paddling the river for 500 miles in my kayak).
    http://rubikonadventures.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

I did ride to Las Vegas and back for work in April. I took the scenic route down and another lonely route up through Northern California on the way home.

I originally bought my bike to ride up to the NWT, Yukon and Alaska, but everytime I get the time off, I seem to go up to the north on other big treks and leave my bike home. Last year, I did an awesome trek in the Yukon (less than 30 people a year visit the Donjek area) and we drove above the arctic circle... took a plane to the edge of the continent to a village on the Beaufort Sea..

Video of the Donjek Hike: http://youtu.be/I-MFPvE65m0
see all 3 parts to get the complete adventure... it was hardest thing I've ever done form a physical and mental standpoint (no trails, only maps, GPS and lots and lots and lots of bushwacking and lots of BEARS! ... OMG that was tough! But, I'd do it again in a heartbeat :D )

Too many hobbies, not enough time. 2012 was a banner vacation year for me. I'm looking forward to 2013. No Alaska ride planned.. I am hiking the Canol trail in the NWT (200 miles in 20 days with food drops) or trekking the Mt Edziza plateau for 10 days (depends upon lining up our scehdules). I guess when my knees give out, I'll do the big bike tour :evil

Awesome pix! Where'd you find the tire chains? I just googled for them and wasn't come up with anything.

    Howdy All,

Went for a New Years day ride with Chris, worked our arses off in the deep snow, had a great time, I am tired, and very wore out, only fell twice, once to the left, once to the right, Chris didn't get a photo so technically it never happened.

The mighty Tdub gets high mark on the mountain on this section of the ride.

Three Eagles gave us quite a show, riding the thermo coming up the side of the ridge.

Mt Rainer, about 130 miles away from where we were riding, this photo was taken zoomed in as close as my cheap camera would go.

Mt. Rainer, is in-between the bikes, no zoom, 130 miles away.

Chris is "lubricating" the gate. :eek1
    [IMG]

This gate and its story will be shared around the camp fire for years to come. :evil
    [IMG]

What a great day, not to cold, very sunny for this time of year, Thanks Chris for inviting my slow old arse to ride with you today. :clap:clap:clap

I'd also like to know the answer. And if they are home made, did they start out as car chains, or were they built from scratch?
