Question!! The camping area is only 20 minutes from my house. Is it required to pay for camping to come hang out/get in on some of the rides (all pavement here, im on a Versys with sport touring tires).

    Thanks!

I think I paid the cheapest there is even if I only make it a night. The food and beer is worth every penny!

I see. So the 75.00 would cover the cost of the rally and dinner and such, with offsite lodging being my house. That said, if anyone needs a place to park a tow rig, My yard will be open, and free. (bearing in mind that I could only fit a couple of rigs).

The rally fee covers the t-shirt, beer, dinners, and door prizes. You will definitely get your money's worth. :deal

There's a very competitive "Brain Cell Killing" contest that you'll be missing. In other words... "Stick around and Drink with us." :freaky

Soooo... the off road parts. I need a new rear tire on the 300. What's the hoop of choice for those parts?

It depends on how much rain we happen to get. Most of the time a dual-sport tread will do fine, but if it's damp you'll want a fresh knobby. We'll be riding some very long, steep, loose hills that may be muddy. Some hills might be beyond what the group will be able to climb, so we'll take a break and watch the "hot shots" give em' a try. I'd think if you're riding a 300 you'll want to be prepared for the challenge.

(I'm not really an expert on the various knobby brands & models. I ran an IRC MB5 rear on the WR450 last year and was very happy with it. This year I'm planning to be riding a little XT225, so I bought a lighter version.)

Kenda 760 and Dunlop 606 are popular DOT knobbies.

I think that somebody should see if this and SLAP could be held on different weekends next year.

we were talking about it. The only weekend I can get into Black Bear is during Damascus Traildays; SLAP tried to do it a week later, but that's Memorial Day :dunno

Had a terraflex on a DRZ. Hated it. It wasn't any better than a 606 off road, but was like riding on ice on pavement.

Only good thing about it was that it looked cool.
